What the role is We are looking for self-driven staff excited about promoting and implementing programmes on greenery appreciation among Singaporeans in support of NParks\xe2\x80\x99 City in Nature vision. You will be part of a team overseeing NParks\xe2\x80\x99 flagship community engagement programme \xe2\x80\x93 Community in Bloom (CIB). Besides getting involved in setting up actual community gardens, you will also implement public outreach activities in horticulture and gardening to enthuse the public towards plants and gardening. Working closely with grassroots, schools, volunteers and various organisations in Singapore, you will provide horticultural consultancy services to develop and sustain community gardening projects. This will include spending time on the ground connecting with and mobilising the community and members of the public.

What you will be working on Key responsibilities include:

• Promote, set-up programmes and build partnerships with stakeholders, including Grassroot Organisations, Town Councils and HDB

• Assist to drive CIB outreach through events and activities, such as conducting gardening talks and workshops

• Lead and manage a range of gardening projects such as Gardening with Edibles, Focus Group discussions, East Coast Greenery Masterplan, Allotment Garden Secretariat roles (registration/balloting/website management/gardener engagement), CIB survey roll-out and CIB Awards 2023

• Update CIB-related webpages

• Monitor stock levels of CIB Garden Signages and procure new ones where required
  

What we are looking for

• Degree in horticulture, life science, environmental science and related fields preferred

• At least 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in horticulture-related work preferred

• Hands-on experience in growing plants and gardening would be advantageous

• Preferably with at least 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in social media, digital content creation/marketing and promoting public outreach programmes

• Good communication, interpersonal and public speaking skills

• Prepared to work outside office hours, including Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays

Successful candidate will be offered a 9-month contract employment.
