What the role is:You will be part of a dynamic team that spearheads Singapore\'s development as an international maritime centre (IMC). The IMC Promotion team devises, executes and administers initiatives to grow a portfolio of new accounts as well as to manage and deepen engagements with existing accounts.[What you will be working on]
You will work closely in partnership with international shipping companies, both foreign and local, by providing information and access to government initiatives and assistance for their investments in Singapore. You will also engage with other relevant government agencies, industry associations to enhance the linkages within and outside of the Singapore maritime cluster as well as to create business and job opportunities in Singapore. This position is an individual contributor role.The roles and responsibilities are, but not limited to:
a. Build sound understanding of business trends that impact the various shipping sectors, developments in adjacent sectors, identify trends across specific shipping sectors and provided inputs where relevant to appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
b. Interact with and engage in promotional efforts for the local and international shipping community.
c. Serve as the main contact person from MPA to a portfolio of identified shipping companies.
d. Facilitate the expansion of shipping companies in and from Singapore and cultivate long term relationships between Singapore and the international maritime industry.
e. Identify new growth and emerging markets for maritime activities, cultivate and facilitate the expansion of the overseas maritime community in Singapore.
f. Identify, promote and encourage growth of new maritime businesses in strategic focus areas such as sustainability, decarbonisation, digitalisation as well as expansion of new commercial activities.
g. Cultivate growth of new maritime fuel businesses in Singapore to support of the development of new maritime fuel eco-system.
h. Engage new and existing shipping companies to jointly develop their manpower through various workforce development programmes.
i. Encourage and facilitate the utilisation of MPA administered programmes to support new business activities and workforce development efforts.
j. Monitor, review and provide timely reporting on the progress of the projects undertaken by your portfolio of shipping accounts entered in partnership with MPA and the Singapore government.
k. Develop new ideas and partnerships through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to achieve common objective of maintaining Singapore\'s competitiveness as a leading international maritime hub.
l. Provide customer service / assistance to companies we engage and uphold Singapore\'s efficient and business-friendly environment.
m. Willing to travel when opportunity arise to participate at international events or to visit key clients.
n. Curate and organise platforms for client engagement
o. If deemed suitable, you will also be assigned ad-hoc projects to support Government-level and agency-level initiatives.[What we are looking for]
a. Candidates with at least 2 years of working experience are welcomed to apply. Experience in working with the Singapore public sector\'s client engagement, investment promotion and sector development organisations will be an advantage. Experience in strategy development, business planning and finance or taxation will also be relevant for this role.
