Reporting to the Island Operations Division, this staff will be responsible for overseeing the lifecycle planning, implementation, and optimization of technology systems and services used by the division as the division strives to up-skill its members and transform its operations through innovation. The domain of these technology systems and services includes, but is not limited to: maintenance management, security, facilities, transport, and other technology systems and services related to island management.
He/she will be the communication bridge between technical stakeholders (such as technology vendors and IT professionals) and non-technical stakeholders (such as senior management and department system users).
Duties & Responsibilities
He/she will maintain the master list of technology systems and/or services used by the Island Operations Division and initiate conversations with stakeholders at appropriate times, to ensure that the technologies used by the division always remain relevant.
He/she will collaborate with other departments within the division to review operation needs, intricacies and current practices in order to identify suitable technologies or formulate suitable technology strategies for cross-function synergy.
He/she will stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies, and make recommendations for new initiatives or improvements to existing systems and/or processes.
He/she will provide guidance for the procurement of technology systems and/or services used by the Island Operations Division.
Other duties include:
Plan and manage assigned development projects when required, not limiting to: building business case for approval, developing contract specifications for procurement, developing appropriate project implementation schedule and tracking progress to ensure timely project delivery
Communicate with stakeholders and senior management to provide updates on the status of projects and initiatives.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Technology, Electrical Engineering, or any related field
At least 5 years of working experience in technology procurement, delivery, or maintenance of technology systems and/or services
Proficient in documentation and building presentations, for example, documenting process workflow, standard operating procedures, drafting procurement specifications and building business cases.
Ability to build strong relationships that engender trust through mutual respect and contribute to a positive working environment of co creating solutions together.
Technical knowledge in the areas of network architecture, network configuration, application gateway and protocols, API gateway and protocols.
Possess proactive and problem solving mindset
Strong communication and writing skills
Ability to handle new information and adaptive to change
Service-oriented and meticulous in nature
Experience in technology project management in a government setting will be an added advantage
