The National Cohort Office (NCO) is a national initiative to develop cohort studies to enhance the long-term biomedical research ecosystem in Singapore. The programme office is hosted by the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore (NUS) to provide administrative oversight to the strategic cohort studies grant and to facilitate competency building of the cohort research community. We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated Manager/Senior Manager to lead the research mission of NCO to spearhead and invigorate the cohort research community to collaborate and accelerate competency building in this area. Duties & Responsibilities 1. Have a keen interest in infrastructure building for population cohorts, from recruitment, collection of data and biospecimens and sharing and governance of cohort resources. 2. Research on innovative methods that would accelerate competency and efficiency in cohort methodology. 3. Promote the adoption of best practices to facilitate collaboration and enhance the global relevance of cohorts in Singapore. 4. Develop the NCO website as a resource and platform for population cohorts. 5. Establish an online registry of population cohorts including content management and liaising with cohort study investigators to update content half-yearly. 6. Assist with engagement for the research cohort community and policymakers to enhance policy relevance and application 7. Co-organise annual conferences/workshops or other engagement platforms for cohort study investigators and relevant stakeholders to exchange knowledge, share best practices and collaborate.
Qualifications
PhD or Masters in biomedical sciences
Minimum 5 years working experience in public health administration, practice, or research
Experience in leading communications or white paper writing, preferably in a not-for-profit environment (university, research institute, think-tank, NGO or similar) would be a strong advantage
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
Highly motivated individual with a strong sense of responsibility and service-oriented attitude and an excellent team player
Good analytical thinking and scientific skills
Able to independently manage and work well with various groups of stakeholders to meet deadlines for reports and events
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
