POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the execution of W Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s marketing and PR activities within and outside the hotel. This includes maintaining the relationships and interactions with media, journalists, celebrities and maintaining the PR reputation and standing of the hotel. Generating Editorial, image and video coverage for the benefit of W Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s Marketing efforts as well as overseeing the image and brand consistency of these marketing activities are the main directives.

Strategic Planning PR

  • Design and influence a PR strategy and SMART Plan, aligned with marketing and communication activities across the Hotel and the region.
  • Ensure consistent and relevant customer communications within appropriate channels with an aim of establishing market credibility and awareness.
  • Works closely with public relations professionals within Starwood regionally and internationally.
  • Researches, writes press releases and makes sure that they reach the target audience.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with influential lifestyle media, publications, celebrities, artists to enhance W Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s editorial coverage and support.
  • Manages photo shoots within hotel to provide smooth operations. This includes fashion shoots, ad shoots, editorial shoots as well as W related food/ event photography and may include working hours outside normal daily working hours.
  • Develop, plan and manage PR resources according to agreed budget.
Effectively communicates the Hotel\xe2\x80\x99s happenings
  • Actively involves in the production of sales & publicity brochures, collateral, promotional videos and digital programs that serves to reach the Hotel\xe2\x80\x99s target audience.
  • Responsible for organizing press conference, exhibitions and press tours.
  • Bridges between the Hotel, the Media, and other organizations. Evaluates the advertising and promotional programs and ensures it is aligned with W passion points.
  • Writes and distributes all media alerts and press releases for property events, promotions, and outlets.
  • Supervise the efforts of the team in maintaining the Hotel\xe2\x80\x99s image and identity.
  • Draft speeches of the Hotel\xe2\x80\x99s senior leadership team (SLT) for public events and meetings.
  • Hosts media at W Singapore events to maintain relationships and create editorial imagery and message.
  • Helps create positive and beneficial social media content.
Manage public image of W Insider to generate character editorial content.

Event Management
  • Seek out opportunities to participate in or collaborate with relevant events, conferences, or exhibitions in order to create awareness, support sales, or seek out additional business development opportunities and activities.
  • Responsible for the arrangements at special events such as sponsorship of dinners, fashion shows, music events, etc.
  • Works closely with the catering and events team.
  • Attends specific strategic events to establish image of hotel and involvement in the relevant communities along passion points.
  • Creates and conceptualize PR events and activities to generate editorial from relevant media.
Delivering Results
  • Cooperates and works closely with the leader(s) on matters related to public and media relations and marketing activities in a collaborative and supporting position.
  • Prepares analysis and report on the hospitality industry.
  • To update and maintain various communication resources such as guest database of B+F, media list and branded website.
  • Co-ordinates with Welcome Office / W Insider in dealing with high level complaints from in house guests.
  • Meets daily with the Digital Marketing Manager to discuss on appropriate responses to guests feedback on social medias i.e. Trip Advisor, Flyertalk.
  • Liaises with Welcome Office / W Insider to ensure appropriate arrangements are prepared ahead of time for VIPs and other special attention guests\xe2\x80\x99 arrivals.
  • Manage public related promotional events.
  • Attends all Sales & Marketing Meetings.
  • Support in launch events, marketing campaigns and advertising programs.
  • Prepare and execute pr/promotional campaigns.
  • Draft and prepare for the publication of press releases, news and articles.
  • Maintain good relationship with the general public, and the media, both online and offline.
  • Respond to inquiries sent by the public.
  • Review editorial schedule and ensure the W brand image is well represented.
  • Ensure high quality coverage for the company\xe2\x80\x99s website and public relation materials.
  • Consult MI Area team PR regarding PR issues or public interviews.
  • Write and deliver public announcements of the Hotel.
  • Provide assistance to Hotel management regarding PR activities.
  • Manage online media and PR support channels.
  • Generates celebrity endorsement through relationships and image through social media.
Administration
  • Prepares a monthly marketing activity report with marketing report including media value.
  • Follows through on PR initiated events, media interviews, press releases and community service initiatives.
  • Maintains image of the W brand.
  • Maintains the media kit and ensures that photo library including master shots are kept in good condition.
Inter-Department Relations
  • Manages work operations within the department as well as other related departments.
General
  • Implements other tasks as directed by leader.
  • Ability to reserve confidential information when necessary.
  • Abides by policies and procedures established by the Retreat and practices Starwood code of conduct.
  • Well-groomed at all times.
Maintains admin materials such as Smart Plan, Marketing plan, room arrangements, meal arrangements, media fams trips.
