UWCSEA has a permanent vacancy at its Dover Campus for a M&E Supervisor - Building Maintenance.
The position plays a role in leading the comprehensive maintenance and improvement of all building maintenance on campus. This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient operations & administrations, safety, and sustainability of the school's infrastructure not limited to general maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, waterproofing and fixing.
Main Responsibilities
Lead the building maintenance aspects of the Campus buildings perform effectively and efficiently, with the very minimum of downtime or disruption to the operations of the campus.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for building infrastructure not limited to facade, lifts, swimming pool, playground equipment and fire/plumbing & sanitary systems.
Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and materials (e.g., paint, sealants, plumbing supplies).
Identify maintenance trends and recommend efficiency improvements.
Oversee carpentry repairs, installations, and modifications (e.g., doors, furniture, fixtures).
Manage plumbing repairs, including leaks, pipework, and drainage systems.
Coordinate painting, wall repairs, and surface preparation for interior/exterior spaces.
Supervise ad-hoc projects such as waterproofing for roofs, basements, and wet areas.
Address general repairs (e.g., furniture assembly, hardware fixes, minor masonry).
Coordinate, attend and prioritize maintenance routine, requests, work orders, and service schedules.
Supervise in-house technicians and external contractors for non-specialized trades.
Maintain accurate records of campus maintenance activities, inventory, and compliance documentation.
Prepare reports on maintenance performance, costs, and resource allocation.
Enforce safety protocols for staff and contractors during maintenance activities.
Conduct safety briefings and training on proper tool usage and hazard mitigation.
Ensure compliance with local building codes and environmental standards.
Person Specifications
Minimum NITEC/diploma in M&E Engineering or Building Services with facilities.
Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
Experienced in Building Services.
Willing to work in a flexible schedule to attend to emergencies or any critical infrastructure breakdown.
The candidate must be a team player and able to provide technical support / supervision for the direct M&E team.
Written and verbal communication skills.
Hands-on and adopt a flexible approach.
Good communicator and customer orientated.
Organised and meticulous.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
