Job Description

Position : Mechanical Designer (Solidworks/DFM/DFA/GD&T)
Location : Kallang Pudding Rd
Working hours : Monday - Friday 9am - 6pm
Salary (commensurate with experience) : Up to $6000 + Performance Bonus + 14 Days Annual Leave (Up to 18 Days)

Main Responsibilities:

Design mechanical systems for robotics applications, including driving system, actuator system, sensor system, etc.
Promotes and uses new and creative approaches to machine design and to develop variations, as may be required by customers.
Prototype and validate/test the design.
Create and manage engineering drawings, DFM and other documentations
Select materials and components required to achieve the robot functions.
Manage vendors and ensure delivery date within project deadline.
Select suitable manufacturing methods for short term prototyping and full rate production.
Takes the lead in establishing and identifying product cost / quality improvements by performing testing, analysis, and simulation to do design optimization. Establish objectives to implement improvements.
Any other ad hoc duties assigned

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design of products.
Proficient in CAD software, especially SOLIDWORKS.
Solid understanding of the following fields: properties of materials, solid mechanics, theory of mechanism and fluid mechanics.
Experienced with DFM (Design for Manufacturing), DFA (Design for Assembly), Tolerance stack analysis and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Bilingual in English and Mandarin to liaise with Chinese clients who can converse in Mandarin only.
