Turner and Townsend are looking for a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Field Engineering Manager to be in the field based in Taiwan. The position requires bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems on-site. This role requires strong technical skills, project management experience, and leadership abilities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Job description:

• On-site leadership: Oversee the work of engineers, technicians, and contractors to ensure project objectives are met.
• Technical expertise: Provide technical guidance and support for all mechanical and electrical aspects of the project.
• Project management: Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and scope.
• Quality assurance: Ensure all work meets project specifications and industry standards.
• Problem-solving: Identify and resolve technical issues, including failure analysis and troubleshooting.
• Stakeholder management: Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams.
• Safety management: Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and procedures.
• Continuous improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be bi-lingual in English and Mandarin.
• Be based in Taiwan.
• Be in the field directly at the project site.
• Bachelors or Masters Degree qualifications in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or similar. Built up working experience can be considered
• Minimum of 15 years' experience with high voltage substation projects.
• Experience and knowledge of all of the main HSE project management concepts, tools and techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and high-pressure environment, to meet often tight deadlines, and to work pro-actively as part of a committed team.
• Strong leadership, communication & interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of relevant local and international codes, standards, and regulations.
• Computer/IT knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project tool, Conference call and Internet skills.
