Roles & Responsibilities JOB DESCRIPTION

• Experience in Product Development - Concept, Detailed design, Prototyping , Testing and Manufacturing
• Experience in Plastic, Sheetmetal parts design for Housing
• Experience in SolidWorks - Solid & Surface Modelling, Sheetmetal, Metal Extrusion, Assembly, Detailing
• Experience in coordination for Cross functional teams and supplier for Prototyping, Testing and Manufacturing
• Able to perform Tolerance Stack up & DFMA
• Deliver parts to production on time, cost and to specification
• Produce functional prototype products suitable for testing, review and demonstration
• Develop detailed specifications and design requirements
• Develop tests to replicate anticipated usage and optimise products to be robust and high performing
• Perform analysis on test failures and develop efficient solutions
• Liaise and coordinate with vendors and contract manufacturers on all activities, schedules and deliverables

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent with relevant professional experience
• A creative and considered approach to problem solving, following clear design processes
• Practical and methodical design development expertise through prototyping and testing
• Knowledge and understanding of a broad range of engineering and technological disciplines
• Proven examples of developing a technically challenging design
• Experience working in a 3D CAD design environment
• The skills to communicate your ideas to others within your team
• A demonstrable desire to constantly improve yourself
• Ability to plan, prioritise and co-ordinate your own time
• Knowledge and understanding of multiple manufacturing techniques
• Experience in mechanical and integration design would be advantageous.
• Good analytical knowledge and sense for technical details & precision
• Passion to innovate and improve, willingness to learn & adapt to challenges
• Good team player, ability to communicate well within all levels of the organization
• At least 5 years working experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in Industrial Products.
• Proficiency in CAD related software e.g. SolidWorks
• Experience in mechanical part and mechanism design for DFM and DFA, using both plastic and sheet metal, metal extrusion parts, as well as in related secondary and cosmetic processes is an added advantage
• Experience in mold tooling is an added advantage
• Ability to work independently, have an analytical mind and possess logical decision-making.
• Good communication skill.
