Responsibilities

• Performs functions of package engineer, establish mechanical deliverables, prepare related FEED & procurement engineering documents, conducts technical bid evaluation and review VCDs independently for marine and utility Equipment in meeting customer\xe2\x80\x99s expectations
• Reviews and checks project requirement specification, detailing plans and other engineering datasheets prepared by team members using engineering common network, software and tools
• Arranges discussion with team and other engineering team members (i.e.yard engineering, basic design and etc.), including subcontractors and consultants on technical issues and design solutions in meeting project deliverables
• Participates in project meeting, attends to technical queries and issues related to mechanical design and reviews the deliverables (i.e. Equipment Specification, Mechanical Datasheet, Technical Requisition, system specification, function description, etc.)
• Liaises with owners, statutory and classification authorities for design compliance review and approval on the proposed project plans in meeting project requirements
• Generates reports on work progress and submits to senior team members for review and approval before submitting to owners, statutory and classification authorities for approval
• Independently prepares deliverables with reference to Contract Specification, Process Data, P&ID etc to deliver safe, secure and fully functional facilities based on the customer\xe2\x80\x99s safety and reliability standards
• Monitors the progress of subcontractors and vendors in offering guidance to deliver documents which required as an input in meeting project deliverables
• Independently prepares detailed mechanical design, equipment selection, arrangement and positioning based on GA Plan, P&ID diagram, and schematic diagrams for the procurement purposes
• Performs the generation of detailed calculations, analysis and solutions for mechanical design to deliver safe, secure and fully functional facilitiesbased on the customer\xe2\x80\x99s safety and reliability standards
• Monitors technical correctness, quality and progress of all aspects of mechanical engineering deliverables to support new-built\xe2\x80\x99s machineries fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning in the operating systems and sub-systems
• Works with other engineering team members as required to achieve functional objectives and deadlines
  

Requirements

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Mechanical/ Marine Engineering or related engineering disciplines
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD and Adobe Acrobat
• Possesses knowledge for Classification Requirements which related to marine and utility equipment design standard
• Possesses understanding of the marine and utility equipment working principles, control logic, operation and maintenance requirements
• Familiars with different brand /model of marine and utility equipment in the market
• Able to develop/deliver Mechanical Datasheet, marine and utility equipment specification, Technical Requisition etc for procurement activities purpose
• Able to review deliverables (e.g. P&ID, process datasheet, load analysis, instrument & control specification etc) from other disciplines (i.e. process, electrical, instrument & control, structure etc)
• Possesses skills of performing technical bid evaluation and preparing technical bid evaluation report for vendor selection. Able to review and conclude the deviatons raised by bidders during technical bid evaluation
• Possesses skills of reviewing vendor delivered documents in detailed engineering phase.
• Possesses knowledge of equipment handling requirements and able to provide input or advice during 3D model review.
• Able to support site activities such as equipment installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning for marine and utility equipment
