About Role
As Medical Affairs Director of our Global Emerging Markets (GEM) business unit you will be responsible for leading and developing the clinical strategy with evidence generation plans and will support in building best-in-class Professional Education. Working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders in the region, and globally you will develop and execute medical affairs initiative and strategies across GEM. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Engage and develop sustainable relationships with internal and external stakeholders with the ability to motivate and influence.
  • Create and communicate a high commitment to Medical Affairs, Medical Marketing and customer service which includes full consideration of the customer\'s needs and Convatec\'s strategic goals.
  • Establishes and drives a compelling outcomes vision that enables Convatec to achieve its strategic goals.
  • Lead medical evaluation processes to ensure safety, efficacy, quality, and medical usefulness of potential products.
  • Anticipate future regulatory changes and impact on clinical trials and ultimately business success.
  • Influences, develops, and implement policy and procedures.
  • Proactively identify and enable new business development and strategically aligned opportunities for assigned therapeutic areas
  • Support educational designs, formats, planning, medical education with local and regional partners.
  • Establish and maintain relationships among key opinion leaders in various practice settings and stakeholder groups inorder to collect expert opinion and insight for grant and content development.
  • Contribute to scientific articles, abstracts, and outcomes-based presentations and publications to exemplify the services and products of the company.
  • Oversees the clinical compliance and medical review of all promotional and advertising material, publications, and other audiovisual tools for GEM.
  • Attend and support scientific and medical meetings. Disseminate clinical and competitive insights within the organization and prepare post-meeting deliverables as needed.
  • Present on company\xe2\x80\x99s products and solutions to healthcare professionals including physicians, hospital and medical practitioners and advisory boards & committees, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dieticians and others.
  • Ensure all Medical affairs & Professional Education initiatives are compliant with relevant guidelines.
About You To be successful you will have:
  • Doctoral degree (PhD, ScD or DrPH) or equivalent preferably in surgery, wound, dermatology with experience managing a medical affairs function at a senior level in the pharmaceutical/medical device industry.
  • Extensive experience in medical affairs in growth markets/segments.
  • Experience with real world evidence generation and publication.
  • Technical knowledge in regulatory, clinical, and medical device industry.
  • Exposure in outcomes research in medical devices.
  • An established network of senior industry leaders, authorities, and opinion voices
  • Developed and fostered diverse KOL networks and relationships.
  • Demonstrated medical education support and execution.
  • Knowledge of health economics (highly desirable).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship skills as well as a customer oriented approach.
