The Medical Writer will lead and contribute to the development of high-quality, scientifically accurate documents, across a range of therapy areas and targeting different audiences. Broadly, responsibilities will include content development, editing, undertaking background research, data checking, and reference annotation across a range of customised deliverables. Other responsibilities will include providing pitch support by demonstrating a clear understanding of pharmaceutical products in and between their classes in the context of the therapy area being discussed. Job Responsibilities 1. Lead and contribute to the development of editorial projects (e.g., manuscripts, highlight reports, slide kits, meeting minutes, e-detail aids), including writing/content development and fact-checking to produce high-quality work that is compliant with both client- and industry-specific regulations and guidelines. 2. Conduct searches of published medical literature and other sources of medical, marketing, and drug development information as directed by team members, e.g., in support of pitches. 3. Understand and build an increasing knowledge of the science and context of therapy areas to the degree required for effective communication with internal team members, clients, authors, and target audiences. 4. Facilitate the progress of editorial aspects of multidisciplinary projects effectively and according to editorial processes. 5. Maintain and organise electronic reference libraries using EndNote, and order and file new references accordingly. 6. Work with business development and client servicing teams as necessary to effectively portray scientific competencies when business-seeking. 7. Provide onsite support for medical meetings as required. 8. Any additional tasks as defined by the Principal Medical Writer or Scientific Director. The Non-Negotiables . Life sciences degree essential advanced degree beneficial. . 1-2 years experience in a medical communications agency preferred. . Ability to digest complex scientific and clinical information and write compelling content for diverse audiences. . Organised with excellent attention to detail and time management skills. . Ability to find and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, consistency, clarity, and accuracy. . Experience in working with collaborative, cross-functional teams, including project management experience. . Superior written and verbal communication skills. .
