So, what's it like?

The main objective is to manage the day to day running of the stockroom, from receiving, updating deliveries, maintaining store Planogram & the replenishment process in the shop floor.

Key Activities:

To have a complete understanding of the WHSmith Rules and Procedures manual and to abide by these rules at all times. Ensure you have a complete understanding of all product, including up sell items, phone cards and items on promotions and are aware of new stock lines. Price stock as required. Maintain a high merchandising display standard. Maintain high stock levels of all product, ensuring all shelves are filled and restocked regularly. Ensure the shop is well maintained and kept clean at all times, particularly at change of shifts or close of shop. Carry out manual handling and lifting duties as required. Ensure the correct lifting procedures are adhered to at all times. E.g. bend knees, assess load and break the load down if necessary. Advise of any injury to the supervisor or manager immediately and to complete an accident report form. Report sickness to appropriate person at earliest convenience. Ensure to clock in and out at the start and end of work and breaks. Ensure to read and keep up to date on any company notices/memos or procedural changes. Keep all customers under observation, acknowledge as many customers as possible. Carry out shop surveillance as required. Keep high priced items in well supervised areas. Advise of any incident to the supervisor or manager immediately and to complete an incident report form. Report internal theft to Supervisor, Retail Executive or Head of Operations. Maintain high dress standards, wearing the correct uniform and name badge at all times. Any other duties as required or as directed by Shift Supervisor, Retail Executive or Head of Operations.

Hours of work:

You will be required to be available to work shifts during these hours of operation, both opening and closing as required It is expected that you work weekends and public holidays as required
