Job Description




The merchandising manager is an analytical professional who specializes in sourcing, managing, and curating a company's products and promotional material. Duties fulfilled by merchandising managers include overseeing the sourcing process, forecasting and managing inventory demands and trends, and negotiating and coordinating with suppliers.
The Philux merchandising manager must have an adept understanding of our brand identity and be able to translate it through the curation of consignments and creative concepts for our visual displays. The merchandising manager is responsible for maintaining brand standards across all Philux showrooms, and responsible for the monitoring and coordination of consignments and accessories.
The Philux merchandising manager must be resourceful, organized, creative, responsible, and have excellent communication and leadership skills, and a “can do” attitude.
PRODUCT SOURCING & CONSIGNMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Involvement in the creative direction of the brand through showroom displays and consignment sourcing
  • Finished goods reordering and inventory tracking
  • Conduct research on potential consignors that align with the brand. Present options tomanagement for consideration.
  • Act as the main point of contact for consignors to Philux. Maintain direct communication and apositive working relationship.
  • Coordinate with administrative and retail departments regarding the onboarding of newconsignors and the addition of inventory.
  • Coordinate with the visual merchandising department on the distribution and timely transfer offinished goods and consignment items
  • Build out specification sheets (material, dimensions, care guide, manufacture info,craftsman/company info, etc.) and packaging guides for all consignment goods.
  • Ensure specifications are accurate, well recorded, and shared with correct parties
  • Lead training initiatives with Sales Account Executives regarding consignment productspecifications and packaging.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements to our customer experience, and further develop andimprove existing processes
  • Monitor sales performance per consignor and category or sub-category.
  • Monitor and facilitate all consignment payables due to the consignor and coordinate directlywith Philux’s accounting department.
  • Provide data analysis on trends to information requests from existing consignors for inventory as well as to inform product sourcing and development efforts.
  • Provide competition analysis and sales trend analysis
  • Stay informed on the competitive landscape to conceptualize and create products unique to thePhilux brand
  • Manage coordination and communications with consignors regarding goods manufacturedexclusively for Philux.
  • Track development progress, including sample status and sampling costs.
  • Attend meetings, occasionally online or in person, with consignors on behalf of Philux to reviewagreements and product options.
  • Collaborate with Brand Curator and Managing Directors to execute creative direction and qualitycontrol on goods manufactured exclusively for Philux.
  • Liaise with suppliers on sample development and execution of amendments.
  • Analyze and pre-approve samples, checking the overall accuracy of specifications.

MARKETING & E-COMMERCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Brand Curator on the retail and marketing calendars to ensure consignments and accessories are promoted as necessary - social media, website, catalogs, digital magazine, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Brand Curator to execute the addition of available inventory to the Philux online shop.
  • Organize product information and assets (pricing, product specs, categories/subcategories, tags, media, SKU’s, inventory), and upload to Shopify.
  • Analyze trends and online sale patterns to recommend additional inventory, identify merchandising opportunities, improve conversion and grow revenue.
  • Coordinate with the inventory and visual merchandising teams regarding potential WIP (Work-in-Progress) or FG (Finished Goods) pieces to be added to the online shop.
  • Ensure that all active products are uploaded to the site by release date and are presented with 100% accuracy. Work with the Retail Team to improve content and product accuracy.
  • Ensure all eCommerce operations processes and necessary data are maintained and documented.



QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Retail, e-commerce, marketing, and/or advertising experience
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Experience with project management and leadership roles
  • Must be a very organized individual with good management skills
  • Must be creative
  • Must be Interested in home goods and/or product design.
  • Have background or work experience in a luxury brand
  • Experience with Shopify and/or Canva is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to enforce and maintain brand position and quality standards.
  • Ability to self-direct and independently problem-solve, as well as ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Proactive and optimistic attitude.
  • Willingness to learn new things
