We are seeking a results-driven and highly motivated Merchandising Manager to lead our field merchandising team. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective execution of merchandising strategies, promotional activities, and visual displays across our network of client outlets, including supermarkets and other retail stores. The Merchandising Manager will be responsible for driving sales and optimizing product visibility at the point of sale.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management:
Lead, train, motivate, and manage the field merchandising team to ensure high-quality execution, excellent customer service, and achievement of sales goals across all client locations.
Merchandising Strategy:
Develop and implement effective merchandising and promotional plans tailored for the client outlet environment (e.g., supermarkets) to maximize product exposure, meet sales, stock, and profit targets.
Field Execution:
Oversee the daily execution of merchandising activities, including planogram implementation, visual merchandising displays, product placement, and stock rotation across various client stores.
Client Relationship:
Act as the primary contact for key client store management and personnel, building strong relationships to facilitate smooth operations and secure optimal space/display opportunities.
Performance Monitoring:
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales performance, inventory levels, stock-outs, and competitor activity within client outlets, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Inventory & Assortment:
Manage inventory flow and product assortments at the client levelto optimize turnover and minimize losses or expired stock.
Operational Compliance:
Ensure that the merchandising team and all activities comply with both company policies and the specific operational guidelines, safety standards, and confidentiality practices of our client outlets.
Requirements
Diploma or higher qualification in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Proven experience (minimum X years) in retail operations or field merchandising management, preferably within the FMCG or supermarket/grocery sector.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to manage a team of field staff.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships with both internal teams and external client contacts.
Organized, proactive, results-oriented, and possess a strong customer-focused mindset.
Flexibility:
Applicants must be able to work on weekends and public holidays, as required by client outlet operational hours and promotional schedules.
Mobility:
Must be able to travel frequently to various client outlets within the assigned territory. (If applicable, add: Access to personal transportation is a strong advantage.* )
