Job Description


Responsibilities: Buying

  • Develop an annual buying strategy and manage the annual buying budget.
  • Select products to create a consistent buying message that aligns with the company's brand strategy.
  • Achieve target budgets, margins, and sell-throughs.
  • Manage the buying process, including building assortments, performance, and managing inventory flow.
  • Develop costing and pricing strategies and be responsible for implementation of these prices.
  • Negotiate and enforce the terms and conditions with suppliers.
  • Identify new business opportunities, including new brands, product trends, and marketing opportunities.
  • Drive the performance of current product assortment, using data and customer insights.
  • Work with OEM partners and central kitchen to innovate PV Foods.
  • Extract, collate and compile data needed to produce the end of year stock value report for Accountant, monthly sales report, consignment reports for consignment suppliers.
  • Ideate and create hampers to meet corporate and seasonal needs.
Inventory Management
  • Oversee inventory management to meet sales plan targets.
  • Communicate with suppliers and third-party transportation companies to ensure shipments are received, routed and shipped on time.
  • Receiving and handling stock orders from suppliers.
  • Ensuring accuracy of products received and reporting any discrepancy.
  • Keeping the warehouse in a tidy manner, and ensuring strict quality control on all products at all times and reporting any issues to the CEO.
  • Conduct monthly store stocktake exercises, investigate loss and discrepancies.
  • Retail Store Operations.
  • Create, establish and maintain efficient operational processes across all stores, which includes POS and Store Maintenance.
  • Support the store team to resolve reported issues, such as customer complains about merchandise.
  • Training of store teams on relevant SOPs and product assortment.
  • Create a visual merchandising strategy and guidelines, and work with store teams to ensure the VM is always upkept.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in buying and retail operations.
  • Intermediate experience with Excel, specifically for use in calculations and reporting.
  • Team-oriented; able to develop and maintain a strong working relationship with all cross-functional departments.
  • Able to react quickly with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Highly organized, ability to shift priorities, excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and ownership.
