Key Responsibilities
1?? Operations & Production Management
Oversee daily recycling yard operations including
sorting, cutting, grading, and processing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
.
Plan, schedule, and monitor workflow to achieve production targets and meet client delivery timelines.
Ensure proper maintenance and safe operation of
machinery, cranes, and heavy equipment
used in recycling processes.
2?? Procurement & Supplier Coordination
Develop and maintain strong relationships with
metal suppliers, scrapyards, and industrial partners
.
Evaluate material quality, negotiate pricing, and monitor metal market trends.
Ensure accurate documentation for
weighing, grading, and material purchase transactions
.
3?? Compliance, Safety & Sustainability
Enforce strict
workplace safety, environmental, and recycling compliance standards
as per NEA and MOM guidelines.
Ensure proper waste segregation, disposal, and environmental reporting.
Conduct safety briefings and risk assessments for workers.
4?? Team Leadership & Workforce Management
Supervise a team of yard workers, drivers, and machine operators.
Plan manpower allocation and training to improve productivity and skill levels.
Motivate and maintain discipline within the team.
5?? Reporting & Business Development
Prepare management reports on material flow, costs, and profits.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
Support management in expanding new business partnerships and recycling projects.
Requirements
Diploma / Degree in
Mechanical, Industrial, or Environmental Engineering
, or related field preferred.
Minimum
3-5 years of experience
in metal recycling, waste management, or related heavy industry.
Strong knowledge of
ferrous and non-ferrous metal categories and market prices
.
Hands-on leader with good communication and decision-making skills.
Familiar with
scrap handling machinery and weighing systems
.
Physically demanding
and able to work in outdoor / industrial environments.
