Job summary

Reporting to the Head of Capital Markets Singapore, you will be working on improvement and/or redesign projects on existing worksheets application and processes for FX & Precious Metals, Structured Products and Execution team within the Capital Markets team.

Key Responsibilities

You will have the opportunity to support the below tasks, but not limited to:

  • Translate complex business requests and provide solutions to automate processes and administrative tasks within the Capital Markets team;
  • Partner with the stakeholders within Capital Markets to identify the gaps and solutions to improve the work flow through computer program writing;
  • Provide solid technical supporting on automation and business projects that value-add to FX, Structured Products (SP) and Execution desks on existing tasks and processes;
  • Review and develop workflow processes of Middle Office (MO) function into an important and integral part of the Capital Markets team;
  • Monitor and optimise reporting flow from back-end to front-end;
  • Provide training and coaching for team members;
  • Assume any other tasks as assigned within the Capital Markets team.
Requirements

To be effective and successful in this position, you should have: -
  • Tertiary Education in appropriate relevant field of study, and ideally with Computer/Financial Engineering or related disciplines such as Business Process Redesign;
  • Minimum 0-2 years of relevant experience in business intelligence, finance-related programme-writing or any other related fields preferred;
  • Strong and proven technical/computing/programming skills i.e. VBA for Excel & macros, Python, Statistical modeling, a plus if well verse with Bloomberg &/or Reuters;
  • Be a strong team player who is strategic and yet practical, able to navigate through diverse cultures, develop and lead strategies in the face of an increasingly-regulated landscape;
  • Adaptable and Independent with strong analytical and decision-making ability.
  • Patient and meticulous with eye for details
  • Have strong research, investigative and analytical skills, and attention to details so as to enable him/ her to make sound judgments and recommendations to relevant stakeholders;
  • Have good verbal/written and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Have good organizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills;
  • Be a self-motivated, self-initiated creative problem-solver who enjoys working in a bank environment;
  • Experience in dealing room or backoffice environment would be a plus;
  • Ability to work under pressure, autonomous and curious;
  • A strong team player to part of the wider Capital Markets team who is willing put in the extra mile.
