Ensure regular benchmarking of HSW performance with peer organisations and importing & adopting of industry best practices.
Leverage on capabilities and expertise of supply partners to improve HSW performance and implementing best practices
Business
Awareness and understanding of the wider business and market environment in which Property and the Group operates
Accountable for the daily operations of the HSW function, including the development of global policies, processes, standards, and procedures for HSW, the management and delivery of HSW projects, and the development and implementation of systems and processes to assure compliance to local regulations.
Subject matter expertise. Provide expertise and specialist support on all aspects of HSW management.
HSW Management. Responsible for developing, managing, and coordinating global activities, programmes, and requests, to ensure delivery in a timely manner.
Emergency Response: Lead and direct the HSW team and assist the bank to respond to emergencies by providing specialist advice and assistance to ensure the resolution of the crisis with the minimum impact on staff / customer safety and HSW.
Budgets Management. In conjunction with Group Property Finance, set the Group HSW projects budget, and ensure costs are managed to maximize efficiency, flexibility, and capability across the group.
Project Management accountable for the delivery and management of HSW projects, including determining project priorities, based on risk and broader Bank initiatives. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget to agreed standards.
Lead and manage project working groups and steering committees.
Property/Bank Projects. Remain informed of other expansion / change projects that require HSW input. Ensure support for planning and internal / external consulting and subsequent integration of acquisitions for HSW related matters.
Business focus. Responsible to ensure that the HSW function is delivered as a cost-effective business and actively identify opportunities for cost savings through simplification or collaboration and improved standardisation, without increasing risk exposure.
Supply Partner Management. Coordination with supply partners to assist with development of the relationship with SCB, including the management of HSW KPI\xe2\x80\x99s.
Technology. Act as the primary HSW main point of contact for all technology-based solutions, that have a future focused orientation, promoting simplification, efficiencies, and enhanced user experience.
Data and Metrics. Develop, coordinate, and maintain HSW reporting (internal & external) that enables proactive risk monitoring with anticipatory reports.
Communications. Ensure appropriate communication to maintain staff awareness on HSW and to reinforce positive HSW culture. Responsible for the coordination of global HSW communication programmes, Bridge content and enhancements. To ensure HSW performance is measured, monitored, and communicated to senior management and to drive continual improvement in HSW performance.
Processes
Develop, implement, and maintain HSW policy, standards, and processes for the Group
Accountable for assurance of the delivery and implementation of global policies and procedures for HSW.
Assisting direct & indirect reports, other Property functions and countries with policy, process, standard implementation, and compliance with legal requirements. Assist regions and countries in translating and implementing HSW policy and standards by providing specialist support.
People and Talent
Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations for HSW teams and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
Consult on global team structure/capacity plans to ensure that it is meeting client demands.
Risk Management
Responsible and accountable for Ensuring that processes are implemented for identifying HSW risks and identified risks are appropriately managed through the operational risk framework.
Maintain an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them.
Ensure the effective application of the risk assurance framework to evidence that existing HSW governance and risk control processes are effectively implemented and are being adhered to across the Group.
Monitor the HSW related risks faced by the Group globally and take pro-active measures to reduce risk, minimise loss and communicate incidents to senior management and provide them with professional advice on all aspects of HSW
Influence the risk management culture of the Property team and broader bank.
Ensure the Board Risk and/or Audit Committee and Property leadership are appraised and advised appropriately on significant HSW risks and HSW performance
Work together with supply partners and other risk functions (BCM, Crisis Management and operational risk) to ensure an integrated strategy in risk management is implemented in line with the Group\xe2\x80\x99s strategic priority of \xe2\x80\x98Keeping the Bank Safe\xe2\x80\x99 and the brand promise \xe2\x80\x98Here for Good\xe2\x80\x99.
Governance
Ensuring that HSW processes are implemented globally, and related controls are evaluated to ensure effectiveness.
Responsible for the assurance of Group policies, processes, standards, procedures, and guidelines for HSW management are being implemented globally.
Accountable for monitoring the effectiveness of policy, processes, and standards, including seeking feedback from regional and country stakeholders, and take necessary action when required.
Responsible for the assurance HSW compliance through coordinating and compiling results of Control Reviews, Building Assessments and Gap Analyses
Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Group\xe2\x80\x99s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight, and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas.
Accountable for the development of processes and procedures for assurance of compliance to local HSW regulations, and reporting of such assurance.
Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

Holds a related degree or other professional HSW qualifications or certification
