About this roleThe Principal Quality Engineer plays a key role in ensuring quality excellence across the organization by providing strategic oversight, technical expertise, and process improvements. This role supports compliance with regulatory requirements, drives defect prevention initiatives, and enhances the Zero Defects Strategy through data-driven decision-making, risk management, and continuous improvement activities. The Principal Quality Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Engineering, Planning, and Supply Chain, to ensure the integrity of quality systems, processes, and product conformance.Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure compliance with CAAS, EASA Part 145, AS9110, and other applicable regulations.
  • Maintain and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring alignment with industry and regulatory standards.
  • Support certification, audits, and regulatory inspections, addressing findings with sustainable corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement standardized quality control processes to improve product and service quality.
Defect Prevention & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead non-conformance investigations, utilizing structured problem-solving techniques such as 8D, Ishikawa, and 5 Whys.
  • Drive the implementation of Zero Defects Strategy, focusing on proactive quality measures.
  • Conduct Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations and ensure CAPA effectiveness.
  • Identify and drive Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Promote the adoption of Poka-Yoke (error-proofing) solutions and risk-based thinking across quality processes.
Risk Management & Process Optimization
  • Conduct Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and risk assessments for new and existing processes.
  • Implement Quality Escapes Prevention Programmes, ensuring robust containment and preventive measures.
  • Establish and monitor Key Quality Performance Indicators (KPIs), providing insights for strategic decision-making.
Customer & Supplier Quality Engagement
  • Act as a liaison between Central Quality and Business Units, ensuring alignment on quality goals and initiatives.
  • Support customer quality reviews, audits, and performance assessments, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Procurement teams to enhance supplier quality management, including supplier Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions resolution.
  • Drive supplier Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions for non-conforming materials and outsourced repairs.
Training & Cultural Development
  • Promote a Just Culture and Human Factors integration in all quality-related activities.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on defect prevention, compliance, and quality best practices.
  • Mentor and coach junior quality engineers and operational teams to build a culture of quality excellence.
  • Support cross-functional workshops and knowledge-sharing initiatives to drive quality awareness.
Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Quality, or related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Quality Engineering within an aerospace MRO or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of EASA Part 145, FAA, CAAS, AS9110, and QMS frameworks.
  • Expertise in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA methodologies, and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with quality tools such as PFMEA, SPC, MSA, and Control Plans.
  • Proficiency in defect analytics, process control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification would be an advantage.
  • Experience with Digital Quality Management Systems (QMS) and AI-driven quality assurance platforms.
  • Exposure to Human Factors and Just Culture principles.
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 advancements in quality management.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to assess quality issues and implement data-driven solutions.
