Your role
Are you able to understand monitoring and surveillance controls that address specific risk topics across different businesses and locations, with a view to ensuring control design is robust and that controls are developed to increase efficiency and effectiveness?

We’re looking for an experienced Monitoring, Surveillance & Controls (MS&C) Product Owner to:

• Take responsibility for front-to-back oversight of design and execution of the control framework for AML Transaction Monitoring, KYC and ABC,
• Act as the conduit into MS&C for the Risk Taxonomy Owners to ensure their risks are monitored adequately. In the case of FCP, the Product Owner will additionally bridge with Divisional/Regional leads
• Use the output of firm-wide and regional risk assessments (RCSA, ACOR, CRA) to ensure gaps in the framework are addressed; create feedback loops to maintain and enhance program coverage. Maintain a dynamic manual controls framework to address the top risks year on year and adjust as necessary
• Provide impactful information and insight to MS&C Divisional/FCP leads and the business. Ensure reporting is integrated in the broader Non-Financial Risk picture. Escalate findings on a timely basis
• Act as an agent of change including control framework amendments, automation and process excellence, leveraging central MS&C technical capabilities as well as IT and Models & Methodologies (M&M) for inhouse development of tooling and models
• Manage CtB budget requests and work with IT and the GCRG Chief Data Officer to deliver on commitments
• Participate in industry forums and keeping abreast of technological developments as well as manage vendor relationships
• Manage the relationship with M&M Model Operations to ensure that models are deployed in a controlled manner and enhancements to the models are made to ensure that they remain relevant and improve the output
• Handle framework related queries from GIA, external auditors and regulators

Your team
You will be part of the MS&C team based in London, a team of monitoring and surveillance subject matter experts responsible for the design of monitoring controls and ownership of centralised global monitoring programs. The team works closely with the regional MS&C teams who are primarily responsible for the execution of monitoring controls across regions. It also works closely alongside other stakeholders within GCRG, Group Technology and the 1st and 3rd lines of defence
Your expertise

• Subject matter expert in monitoring and surveillance, preferably with prior experience of Client-related Conflicts of Interest, Suitability and Cross Border risk and monitoring
• Project and Change management experience (ideally with experience of Agile methodology), with track record of delivering projects on schedule that improve processes and crystallise efficiencies
• A proven ability to communicate well, manage different stakeholders and build relationships
• Product Management knowledge, with experience of managing a product roadmap and prioritising competing future development requirements
