Job Description

We are seeking to hire for a a motivated and experienced New Business Underwriter to assess insurance applications for both High Net Worth (HNW) and non-HNW individuals. The ideal candidate will possess at least 10 years of underwriting experience (direct insurer/reinsurer) and be able to independently manage cases to achieve established performance indicators.

Key responsibilities:

• Handle applications for substantial insurance coverage, both initial and formal stages. Communicate your decisions to intermediaries quickly while achieving competitive underwriting terms and minimizing the need for additional requirements. This involves negotiating with reinsurers to secure the best placement conditions.
• Ensure cases are written within the agreed turnaround time.
• Champion complex cases and provide expert coaching to junior underwriters as they tackle large coverage applications.
• Resolve case appeals collaboratively with the team lead. Communicate postponements and declines directly to agents/BDMs, explaining rationale and offering alternative solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including sales agents, risk management specialists, and claims analysts, to ensure seamless underwriting processes and client satisfaction.
• Conduct market research and stay abreast of industry trends to ensure our HNW offerings remain competitive and relevant.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of underwriting processes and guidelines.
