Job Summary: The NPI Manager plays a key role in developing Gradiant\xe2\x80\x99s water treatment solutions for industrial and municipal customers. The selected candidate will manage short- and long-term Research and Development (R&D) projects in collaboration with Gradiant Applications Engineering and other NPI Managers and Engineers. Specifically, the NPI Manager will evaluate and develop novel membrane and pretreatment technologies for water purification, desalination and brine concentration applications within Gradiant\xe2\x80\x99s Reverse Osmosis Infinity (ROI) product and services line. The candidate will utilize knowledge and competency in engineering, chemistry and scientific methods to manage cutting-edge R&D for Gradiant\xe2\x80\x99s growing water treatment solutions business around the globe.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop new water treatment and desalination technologies as directed by Gradiant NPI Directors and Applications Engineers.
  • Collect, analyze and utilize experimental data to develop predictive models of water treatment and desalination system performance. Apply models to new water chemistries, applications and treatment goals.
  • Work with membrane, pump and instrument suppliers to ensure satisfactory performance of lab equipment and systems and to stay abreast of product developments. Incorporate product advances into R&D work as advantageous.
  • Document system information, test data, results and recommendations in clear, concise reports for internal and external presentations.
  • Generate novel ideas to expand Gradiant\xe2\x80\x99s intellectual property portfolio.
  • Stay abreast of best practices and industry trends.
  • Positively promote a safe and healthy work environment and employ safe work practices at all times, including documenting incidents and recommending and following through on corrective actions.
  • Carry out other duties as may be assigned from time to time by your supervisor.

Skills/experience/education required:
  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s or Doctoral degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering.
  • At least 3 year(s) of experience in Process, Applications or Field Service Engineering in the water industry is required.
  • Strong background with membrane filtration and reverse osmosis systems.
  • Familiar with common water and wastewater technologies.
  • Proficient in Matlab, Python and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, interpersonal/communication skills, writing and problem-solving capacities.
  • Reliable, well-organized and detail oriented.
  • Applicants must be willing to travel internationally as and when required.
