We are responsible for the quality, safety and efficacy of medicines, medical devices, blood and its products and all health-related products available in Singapore. We provide a comprehensive regulatory service for the evaluation and marketing approval of all therapeutic products. We also provide scientific, investigative and analytical support for vital governmental functions such as forensic expertise for the courts, drug and criminal investigations and the regulation of food safety and industrial and environmental health.

[What the role is:]

We are looking for a passionate individual to be part of the Blood Services Group (BSG), Blood Resources Division. The appointee for this position will be a senior registered nurse (SSN and above) who supervises the blood collection operation in the blood bank.

[What you will be working on]

Responsibilities:-

  • Supervise the operations of Whole Blood and Apheresis collection programmes
  • Provide blood donation nursing care, perform donor phlebotomy and within set standard operating procedures to ensure the safety of the national blood supply
  • Provide clinical support in donor management activities such as medical screening and management of blood donor complications
  • Develop training strategies and coach juniors in their work responsibilities and be involved with competency and proficiency assessments and testing
  • Support quality management activities such conducting validation and participate in Blood Bank Audits to meet accreditation standards
  • Demonstrates excellent knowledge, professional and technical competence with problem-solving skills in the management of blood donation
  • Support in other administrative duties
[What we are looking for]

Requirements:-
  • Minimum Diploma in Nursing (Nurse must have a valid registration certificate with Singapore Nursing Board)
  • Worked in a blood service (preferably in blood collection) or other relevant healthcare setting as a Registered Nurse for at least 5 years in Singapore
  • It is an advantage to have an Advanced Diploma and Bachelor Degree in Nursing with a relevant clinical component or other post-registration diploma in transfusion recognised by BSG
  • Candidates must be outspoken and able to communicate well in English
  • Computer literate
  • Good knowledge in quality management
  • The working arrangement will be based on a 5-day work week, including weekends. The appointee will be required to perform morning, afternoon and weekend shifts as rostered. Not required to perform night shift.
