Job Description


The Ops Manager reports directly to the Executive Director/owner. The role will be in charge of the entire operations of all the stores under the owner, managing the organization HR, helping and creating organization efficiency and strategies across all the Subway stores. He/She will be in-charge of all the area managers and store managers of all the stores. He/she will in-charge of the KPIs of all the stores. One of the duties an operation manager has to perform is to provide a work environment that engenders positive energy, creativity and teamwork among employees. Accountabilities

  • Manage the budget given to achieve the targets set for each stores, improve operational efficiency and lower overall operating cost
  • To ensure all stores are functioning within the guidelines placed in the Subway operations manual.
  • To monitor all store results including the following KPI’s:
o Sales/up-selling o Profits o Cost of goods o Labour costs o Food variances including bread, wrap, salad plates, cookies etc. o Money variances o Number of items corrections, price over-rides, free items, discounts. Responsibilities
  • Visit each restaurant to perform checks based on quality, service and cleanliness. Check weekly store rosters, WISRs, control sheets, variance reports, equipment, etc.
  • Institute rules and setting policies in the stores to ensure effective implementation and adherence among each and every staff in the stores.
  • Handle issues with regards to operations, customer complaints and employee problems
  • Recruitment of staff
  • Review monthly mystery shopper reports with the area managers.
  • Conduct weekly manager meeting
  • Conduct bi-annual area manager, managers and supervisor reviews with Director of Operations
  • Evaluate and implement local store marketing together with area manager, store manager and director of operations
  • Cover area manager for annual holidays
  • Conduct training on operational efficiency and customer service
  • Regular meetings with the Director of Operations
  • Manage equipment maintenance as well as the 3rd party vendors relationship
