Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and engaging Guitar and Ukulele Teacher to join our team and lead group and individual lessons for beginner and intermediate students. The ideal candidate will have at least Grade 8 or equivalent music qualifications, a minimum of 1 year of teaching experience with both young children and adults, and a cheerful personality that inspires confidence and enthusiasm in learners.

We also welcome applications from candidates with strong performance backgrounds who are keen to transition into teaching. A training program will be provided to support their transition into teaching.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct individual and group lessons for beginner and intermediate students in guitar and ukulele. Use a variety of engaging and contemporary methods (including pop styles) to keep lessons relevant and enjoyable. Inspire students to explore different techniques and musical styles. Motivate and guide students towards achieving excellence in their musical journey. Prepare students for performances, recitals, and Rockschool examinations. Provide timely updates on student progress to the school and parents. Maintain professionalism, integrity, and compassion towards students, parents, colleagues, and the school.

Requirements

Grade 8 or equivalent music qualifications. Minimum 1 year of teaching experience with both young children and adults. Cheerful, engaging, and approachable personality. Strong knowledge of pop and contemporary teaching methods. Familiarity with Rockschool examination requirements. Strong passion for inspiring students to develop a wide range of musical skills and styles. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Willingness to undergo training if required.
