Job Description

Working Hours



2 days a week in the School (exact days to be determined) Weekdays: 8:00am to 4:00pm , inclusive of 1hr lunch break Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

Qualifications (Preferably)



Bachelor's degree in

Social Work

,

Psychology

,

Counselling

, or related field. Professional accreditation or certification in

social work

(e.g., MSW, SAC-registered social worker) is an advantage.

Skills



Strong

interpersonal and communication skills

to engage effectively with students, teachers, parents, and external agencies. Ability to

facilitate group work

and social-emotional learning sessions. Good

observation and assessment skills

to identify student needs and support strategies. Proficiency in

maintaining accurate records and reports

. Competent in

basic IT systems

(e.g., Microsoft Office, student management systems) for documentation and reporting.

Experience



At least

2 years of relevant experience

in school-based social work, youth work, or related educational settings. Experience working with

adolescents/students

in preventive, developmental, or intervention programmes. Familiarity with

collaboration with schools, parents, and community agencies

to support student well-being. Experience facilitating

after-school programmes or group work sessions

is an advantage.


Key Responsibilities



During curriculum hours (8am-1pm)



1. Student Development and Preventive Work



Conduct regular check-ins with students identified under

Tier 2 and Tier 3

support. Facilitate

small-group sessions

such as circle time, journaling, or goal-setting to promote self-awareness, resilience, and social-emotional growth. Lead

scenario-based discussions and role-plays

to help students strengthen emotional regulation and behaviour management skills. Design and implement

preventive or developmental programmes

addressing social-emotional needs such as peer relationships, stress management, and self-esteem.

2. Consultation and Collaboration



Work closely with the

Student Development Team (SDT)

, Year Heads, and Form Teachers to identify and support students with high needs. Provide

consultation and advice

to teachers on strategies for engaging and supporting at-risk students. Participate in

case conferences and multidisciplinary discussions

to ensure coordinated and effective intervention plans.

3. Family and Community Engagement



Propose

initiatives or support strategies

for families and the wider school community and work in collaboration with the school to implement them. Liaise with

external agencies

(e.g. FSCs, MSF, ComLink, VWOs) to coordinate support in consultation with the school.

4. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting



Track and monitor student progress towards intervention goals. Review the

effectiveness of interventions

and make recommendations for follow-up actions. Maintain

accurate, timely, and confidential records

in line with professional and school requirements.

After-Curriculum Hours (2:00 PM - 4:00 PM) Roles



Support Programme Delivery:

Assist in the planning and implementation of group work or enrichment programmes in collaboration with the school and agency. *

Additional Duties:

Perform other duties as mutually agreed between the agency and the school to support student development and well-being.
