This position offers 6 to 8 hours a week.The Home Languages Programme is offered to students who want to maintain and develop a language spoken at home in a non-prescriptive curricular programme. Teachers follow a responsive approach with which they address the students' linguistic needs. Students develop a cultural understanding of the language, as well as improve their literacy skills.The students' ages are from 4 to 16 years old. Classes are taught in small groups of 3 to 6 students of similar ages and linguistic levels and take place after school (or at lunchtime for some younger students).Please note that to apply for this role, you must have an internationally recognised qualification and reside in Singapore. You must also be readily available from August 2022.Main Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and teach classes as required.
• Exhibit strong classroom management skills.
• Use technology and online resources to enhance the traditional ways of teaching and keep students more engaged.
• Provide evaluation and documentation of student progress

• Follow the UWCSEA Professional Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Code of Conduct.
• Teach in line with the UWCSEA Teacher Standards

Person Specifications

• Applicants must be degree holders.
• Applicants must possess teaching qualifications.
• Applicants must have experience in teaching French to French speaking children. (French First Language and French as a Foreign Language).
• The ability to teach French to students who speak French as a home language.
• Speak, read, listen and write French as a home language at a proficient level.
• A commitment to diversity and inclusion is essential alongside a willingness to adapt and develop pedagogy to meet the needs of our learners.
• Contribute positively and collaboratively to the development of the French Language and Culture in the curriculum.
• Promoting cultural exchange and cross-cultural understanding, and embedding French customs, history, and traditions in the lessons.
