Job description Being part of the Wesley Methodist Church's (WMC) ministry team, to provide pastoral and executive support of COSC's vision, programs and activities, working in consultation with the Job description Being part of the Wesley Methodist Church's (WMC) ministry team, to provide pastoral and executive support of COSC's vision, programs and activities, working in consultation with the Pastor-in-Charge, the COSC Pastor and the COSC Committee and sub-committees (comprising ministries reaching out to seniors, migrants, youth, children, hearing-impaired and those in prison and families etc.), and giving focus to local and larger community ministries of compassion and society issues. Responsibilities Leadership: Working closely with COSC Main Committee and sub-committees to discern, plan, organize and execute the smooth running of the various outreach events, programs and events of COSC. Nurture: To co-labor with COSC leaders to support, build up and care for Wesleyan staff and volunteers. Increasing Awareness: To provide pertinent information and education regarding COSC at WMC with a view to encouraging participation, and to collaborate with relevant ministries in this regard. Training: To coordinate relevant training, equipping and exposure to persons who are serving in COSC. Networking: To establish relationships, collaborative initiatives and networks with church, governmental, social service agencies/partners in Singapore and beyond, with a view to exploring and strategizing ways to meet the urgent needs of society. Mobilization/Collaboration: Building stronger partnerships with WMC ministries, such as Small Group Ministry, Life Stage ministries and Outreach ministries etc. to mobilize more Wesleyans to be involved in outreach work. Administration: Communications and publicity recruitment and volunteer engagement budget planning and support to COSC committee meetings/retreat/events. Supervisory of staff and volunteers in relation to the ministries assigned. Participate and collaborate in WMC's staff meetings, trainings, and events. Requirements Alignment with the doctrinal articles of religion and the general rules of the Methodist Church (as contained in the Book of Discipline of the Methodist Church in Singapore) and its Social Principles. A team player with a positive attitude who can adapt, thrive and multi-task in a dynamic organizational environment, whilst striving for continuous improvement through evaluation and feedback. Meticulous and conscientious in nature, with the ability to work with confidential information and maintain a high standard of honesty and integrity. Ability and willingness to work non-traditional schedules which includes evenings, public holidays and weekends. Keen passion to serve the needs of the lower strata of society, especially the weak, marginalized and vulnerable. Able to show empathy and be willing to listen to clients and stakeholders. Skills and Experience Have relevant theological/social work studies (tertiary level), qualifications and/or experience in similar capacities, especially in the social services sector. Excellent communication, service, and interpersonal skills. Team-player and able to work with different people and parties, whether within WMC or external organizations such as Methodist Welfare Services, governmental and social service agencies. Demonstrated ability to creatively plan and execute programs and events with strong time management & relational skills.
