  • Develop and execute creative and innovative pastry and dessert menus in collaboration with the executive chef.
  • Prepare a variety of desserts, pastries, cakes, bread, and other baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure all pastry and dessert items are prepared and presented with attention to detail and aesthetic appeal.
  • Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure freshness and availability of ingredients.
  • Train and supervise pastry cooks and assistants in proper baking and pastry techniques, as well as food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Monitor kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with other members of the culinary team to coordinate menu offerings and ensure a seamless dining experience for guests.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques, ingredients, and flavors into pastry and dessert offerings.
  • Assist in menu planning, costing, and pricing of pastry and dessert items to maximize profitability while meeting customer expectations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by interacting with guests, taking special requests, and accommodating dietary restrictions or preferences.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant, bakery, or hotel.
  • Extensive knowledge of baking techniques, pastry arts, and dessert preparation.
  • Creative flair and passion for experimenting with flavors, textures, and presentation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively train and supervise kitchen staff.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
