The Position The PJP Mission

  • The Patient Journey Partner (PJP) is at the center of the new Roche organization, reiterating our new and evolved role in society - from mostly offering world-class medicines towards much more partnering, innovating and leading health system transformation. By doing so the PJP will be directly accountable to deliver better outcomes for patients, their community, the ecosystem and the organization, faster.
  • The PJP is an empowered leader and the local face of Roche. She or he partners closely with all stakeholders directly touching the patient journey across Oncology/Hematology and/or other Disease Areas gaining a deep understanding of their needs in order to connect Roche’s capabilities to co-create meaningful solutions, customized based on the level of maturity of institutions in partnership with the Health Systems Partner/HSP based on overall strategic goals.
  • The PJP is a patient journey expert across therapy and disease areas, and is a patient journey strategy owner.
  • This role is locally embedded in the ecosystem, it is an integrated role, functionally agnostic, (i.e. it does not fit into the traditional concepts of Commercial/Sales or Medical Affairs)
  • The PJP works together with other PJPs leveraging synergies across ecosystems
Responsibilities
  • The PJP acts as a trusted partner and is the primary point of contact for Health Care Practitioners (HCP) and Health Care Providers to partner with patient journey stakeholders. Working with partners to uncover all potential opportunities to transform outcomes for patients, faster.
  • The PJP focuses to bring Roche expertise, science and knowledge to the ecosystem. Stewards Roche’s products through their lifecycle and supports their appropriate use, which includes sharing their merits with HCPs in a truthful and balanced manner.
  • Brings in insights from regular market and HCP engagements, including customer visits, market and data analytics, to identify gaps and opportunities, to translate to solutions.
  • PJP shares the patient and stakeholder community needs internally to Roche, prioritizes and secures resources, and drives solutions that deliver outcomes faster. The PJP is a strong contributor, and co-develops the disease and therapy area strategies of the affiliate.
  • The PJP will help drive Personalized Health Care and works with HSPs for enablement. One Roche is his/her mindset and is a must-win..
  • The role is empowered to pull in expertise and resources locally and from the network as needed, including in collaboration with other PJPs and HSPs, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, etc.
  • Accountability on delivering outcomes in therapeutic areas within the ecosystem.

Skills and Experience:
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills including partnering.
  • Strong business acumen with desired expertise in commercialization, medical and customer experience excellence
  • Able to understand and leverage digital means and tools is desired

Knowledge:
  • Deep understanding of patient journey(s) and related treatments in defined disease area(s), enabling engagement at the specialist level.
  • Broad understanding of Roche’s present portfolio and future pipeline, such that they can work on future-based solutions
  • Robust understanding of medical affairs strategies and tactics including clinical research
Other relevant capabilities:
  • Proficient in English to collaborate internally across the broader Roche enterprise is highly desired
  • The role will be required to travel to the South Visayas region (based in Manila) for about 70% traveling percentage
  • Candidates coming from the Visayas region is an advantage
Preferred Qualifications:
  • University degree (scientific, economic, or business degree). An advanced degree in Life science and/or MBA is a plus.
  • Practical understanding of digital innovation methodologies.
  • Commercial (Sales & Marketing) & Medical experience with at least 3-5 years or working experience is preferred.
  • Disease Area of Oncology knowledge is highly preferred.
