The team is focused on understanding and influencing the payments ecosystem (payment types, cost, partner choice, network management, environmental impact) to identify and deliver best-in-class payments capabilities, drive customer profitability and enable local market optimization. The successful applicant will bring to the team deep payments domain knowledge across APAC and MEA regions. The role is a subject matter expert in payments processing, on both acquiring and issuing sides. The candidate should have a proven track record of partnering with processors, acquirers, banks and card networks on transformative initiatives that deliver on revenue and performance KPIs, whilst laying the foundation for sustained growth and innovation. Possess a good grasp of the regulatory landscape in key APAC/MEA markets and will serve as an advisor in shaping PayPal's regulatory strategy. This role requires an outcome-focused, self-driven individual who can navigate and influence in a hyper-matrixed organization and has the gravitas to manage C-level stakeholders across a broad spectrum of external partners. The incumbent will need to have an entrepreneurial mindset - continually mining opportunities and leading initiatives end-to-end with minimal supervision. Success in this role will require both technical and commercial acumen, strong multitasking and prioritization ability, and a knack for seamlessly shifting between detail-oriented, technical tasks and strategic thought leadership. Familiarity with PayPal's business models, functional domains and core processes is a strong plus. Primary Job Responsibilities: Serve as the day-to-day Payments Partnerships & Services lead for APAC and MEA regions, reporting into the Head of Payments & Product Commercialization Manage a broad spectrum of payments partners (networks, processors, acquirers, banks, FIs) across the regions implement partner strategies and drive cross-sell opportunities with other parts of PayPal, e.g., Treasury, broader PayPal regions Represent the Payments function in a highly matrixed organization, partnering closely with Sales, Product, Strategy, Finance, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, Customer Service, and other domains Ensure optimal functioning of the payments infrastructure and support business growth via building/launching new capabilities, product scaling geo-expansion and localization Track the competitive landscape and continually seek opportunities for PayPal to optimize our operations and deploy new products/services in a timely and efficient manner Manage executive reporting within PayPal and lead partner QBRs, with a view to action on the insights gained from performance tracking Requirements: 10+ years of professional and relevant payments experience across banks, payment networks, acquirers, processors, digital wallets and fintechs Deep understanding of payments processing and cash management solutions Experience in managing external partners/vendors both at a function and executive level strong relationship-management and commercial negotiation skills Track record of working independently and effectively in a cross-functional, hyper-matrixed environment Highly entrepreneurial, self-driven and independent Has a curious mindset and a natural inclination for creative problem solving Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across functions and levels Analytical and methodical - able to manage multiple, high-priority work streams with the agility, and the ability to continually reprioritize in line with dynamic business strategies
