Position Summary Manage regional payroll operations for various APAC countries to ensure timely and accurate processing of end-to-end payroll cycles. Countries covered include but are not limited to Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines. This position interacts with various levels of personnel both inside and outside the company. That interaction requires good interpersonal skills and judgement, tact and diplomacy with internal and external customers in troubleshooting problems and communicating status. Efficiency in this role requires a thorough solid understanding of relevant payroll processes and systems, policies and procedures. Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position. Initiative and organisation skills are valuable to ensure the timely completion of a large volume of work, within short timelines. The position reports to the Payroll Manager
Essential Functions:

  • Manages day to day payroll operations for multiple APAC countries.
  • Checks, validates and ensures completeness and timeliness of submissions for approval and approvals of payroll results and project deliverables
  • Develops, manages, and supervises payroll SLAs/KPIs.
  • Drives the team to work in meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Coaches, trains, and develops the team.
  • Prepares, analyzes, conducts, and presents to key stakeholders as the need arises.
  • Provides guidance to the team in analysing sophisticated payroll calculations and implementing solutions that meets statutory regulations.
  • Resolves critical issues by providing root cause analysis and corrective action for sophisticated or non-routine situations
  • Liaises with vendors and work on solutions when needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring that standard operating models including standard payroll report formats, SOP, checklist, payroll calendars, record keeping etc. are up to date.
  • Assists in audit operations and implement audit recommendations
  • Develops controls and procedures to ensure compliance with policy
  • Interprets, analyses and applies statutory rules, compliance regulations and corporate policy to ensure pay is accurate.
  • Keeps abreast with payroll regulatory changes, review and analyze tax and legal regulations, identify issues/implications affecting company and employees and update related payroll process
  • Provides back-up support to team members as the need arises.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree / diploma holder
Experience
  • At least 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 proven experience in processing end to end payroll.
  • At least 2-3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a payroll supervisory role.
  • Experience in managing teams in a faced-paced, cross-functional environment. constantly evolving environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent organization, planning, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Strong team building, interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills.
  • Ability to manage a diverse workforce.
  • Solid understanding of payroll and relevant tax laws and legislation, as well as clear understanding of other statutory requirement in various APAC countries.
  • Knowledge of Sage EPE system, e-Cirtrix clocking system, Workday system and Service Now ticketing system is an added advantage
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Experience working in international organisations and working in a matrix organisation across different countries and cultures.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to effectively interact and correspond to all levels, customers, vendors and primarily with employees, line managers, HR partners and HR Operation Team.
  • Possesses a high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to multitask. A get-it-done demeanor, and a high level of ownership.
  • High standard of confidentiality and compliance, in terms of private and confidential data management, documents and process control
  • Self-motivated, accountable for deliver quality results per given timeline.
  • Team player who can be dynamic and flexible should be the situation require this.
  • Excellent time management skills, and the ability to prioritize and focus on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to be proactive, and solve problems expeditiously, while always maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Strong personal credibility with ability to build trusted relationships with business leaders and a role model for values, ethics and integrity.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products and Google products.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
