Job Description


As a Physical Commodities Associate, you'll be responsible for understanding trading structures to accurately capture all transactions, perform logistical support, complete reconciliation checks, and ensure controls are performed.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the work of others and provide oversight on the overall operations of the team
  • Provide operational support for Trading and Sales desks and managing query resolution across various functions to ensure timely resolution of client queries and issues
  • Build strong global partnerships with internal and external stakeholders including clients, front office, credit, legal, technology and operations teams
  • Review control and performance indicators, analyzing trends and reporting of issues/errors/breaches
  • Manage incidents, provide timely escalation, root cause analysis and implementation of solutions
  • Review new products and requirements with business and/or support units and set up procedures to enable effective service delivery and product offering to clients
  • Drive process improvements and digital automation agenda across the team to increase efficiency, improve client experience or enhance controls

Required Skills
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a Trade Support /Sales Support / Middle Office / Settlements role in the banking industry is required
  • Experience in managing a team , and knowledge of commodities products is highly required
  • Ability to and prior experience in digital automation tools (UiPath, Alteryx, Xceptor, Robotics Automation tools) preferred
  • Experience on process automation tools and delivering continuous process improvements preferred
  • Strong partnership record and ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders through the firm
  • Team player with effective written and oral communication skills
  • Good analytical skills, strong control mindset and problem solving ability
  • Comfortable to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment and be flexible to changes to scope and approach
  • A self-starter with the aptitude to initiate action, adapt to change, make difficult decisions, and accept challenging assignments
  • Applicants must hold a minimum of bachelor's degree or equivalent
