What the role is:
The Urban Redevelopment Authority is a statutory board under the Ministry of National Development (MND). Our Urban Design departments within the Conservation and Urban Design Group (CUDG) play a role in transforming Singapore's physical environment and draw up district masterplans and urban design plans that contribute to the rejuvenation of our city centre.
What you will be working on:
As a Planning Executive in the Urban Design, Central Area Department, you will support this work by supporting our Architects in the drafting and preparation of land use plans and urban design plans. You will also facilitate the translation of our plans to reality by assisting in downstream planning and implementation processes, such as processing Development Applications and Land Use Applications. Competency in the use of Information Technology (IT) is also critical as you will need to be proficient in the use and management of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and CAD-based data in our work. You will also have the opportunity to leverage data analytics, modelling and simulation to enhance our decision-making process, and explore technological and process solutions to make our work more efficient.
What we are looking for:
a. Technical understanding: i. Diploma or equivalent in fields such as architecture / engineering / real estate / urban built environment, or other similar fields. ii. Proficiency in the use of drafting software (e.g. AutoCAD) and / or GIS software (e.g. ArcGIS. Programming knowledge, familiarity with 3D modelling (e.g. Revit) and / or Adobe Photoshop is an advantage. iii. Relevant experience in master planning and urban design is advantageous, but we are prepared to accept fresh graduates with keen interest and a strong desire to learn. b. Able to work well in a team, think creatively to address challenges and provide innovative solutions. c. Reasonable analytical, writing and communication skills.
