Surface preparation

Cleaning:

Clean and prepare surfaces for plastering by removing dirt, old plaster, or paint.

Protection:

Cover and protect areas that are not being plastered, such as windows and doors.

Materials:

Apply a base coat or attach wire mesh, if needed, to the surface.
Application and finishing

Mixing:

Measure and mix plaster, cement, or other materials to the correct consistency.

Application:

Apply multiple coats of plaster to walls and ceilings using hand or power tools.

Finishing:

Smooth, level, and finish surfaces to achieve the desired texture, or apply decorative effects.

Detailing:

Cut and attach corner beads around openings and smooth over nail holes and joints.
Other responsibilities

Repair:

Patch and repair any cracks or damage in existing plasterwork.

Installations:

Install plasterboard, fireproofing, acoustic, and insulating materials.

Safety:

Follow all safety guidelines, wear appropriate protective gear, and maintain a safe work environment.

Maintenance:

Clean up the worksite and maintain tools and equipment. *

Communication:

Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to ensure project completion.
