Job Title Platform Lead Asia (Foodbytes)



Rabobank Singapore and Foodbytes are working together on expanding the Foodbytes proposition to Asia. The Foodbytes proposition is designed to drive efficient innovation for corporates: our goal is to optimize their core business and drive sustainability through startup collaboration.

Food & Agri innovation is a hot topic in Singapore and Asia in general. The momentum is there to build an active presence of Foodbytes in the region: it strengthens the position of Rabobank as Innovative Food & Agri bank, generates immediate (fee based) income and is a unique proposition that can help the bank build (banking) relationships with prospects and non-Rabobank clients.

Foodbytes started as a pitch competition for Food & Agri startups. In 2021 the decision was made to stop the physical events and pivot the proposition to a digital and scalable operation. Since early 2023 the Foodbytes proposition is operational in the USA and Europe.

Foodbytes is growing towards a global connection hub and is positioning itself as a central player to drive actions and provide insights for a better climate. In more direct words: we want to help companies to reach their sustainability & impact goals, whether they are a large corporate looking to prevent Food waste or an early stage startup in vertical farming looking to raise their first funding round.

The key activities of the Platform Lead are:

  • In preparation of this pilot, the goal is to draft the execution plan, including tangible KPI\xe2\x80\x99s, marketing materials, and engage with relevant decision makers
  • In execution of this pilot, main focus is on sales, relationship building, startup scouting and creating visibility in the Asian market by actively selling and promoting Foodbytes
  • Conducting strategic/market studies in Food & Agriculture and Climate-tech to identify trends, market actors, and investment opportunities
  • Optimizing the platform by ongoing business development based on client feedback and testing new features
  • Leveraging the Foodbytes platform by engaging with Rabobank Wholesale clients, identifying their needs, and ultimately drive (partnership) engagement.
  • Establishing commercial and strategic relationships with thought leaders that make a difference for our clients and participate in events that contribute to a large network of investors and investees.
  • Reporting of the pilot progress as an extension of the global Foodbytes team to the local office

As the Platform Lead, you will be working in a small team with a focus on ongoing training, coaching and supporting each other.

Customer focus, collaboration, strong social skills and a high level of integrity are clearly essential for the role of Platform Lead. In addition, it\'s important that you recognise everything in the checklist below:
  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent (strong GPA) in field of Business administration e.g.: Finance, Economics, Strategy, International Management
  • Strong sales and relationship building mindset
  • Strong presentation, data management, and analytical skills with attention for detail (proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Relevant working experience (3-6 years) in e.g. strategy consultancy, investment banking/private equity, venture capital is a pre
  • Learner mindset and strong interest in Venture Capital
  • Interest in South-East Asia, Food & Agriculture and Innovation
  • Focus on team results, coaching and meeting deadlines
  • Self-starting and proven examples of going the extra mile
  • Creative, innovative and affinity with investments in Climate-tech / F&A-tech / Fin-tech
