Job Description

Core responsibilities


Installation:

Installing new plumbing systems in new construction, and fitting fixtures like sinks, toilets, showers, and appliances with water lines.

Repair:

Fixing leaks, replacing parts, and clearing clogged drains and pipes.

Maintenance:

Performing routine checks and preventative maintenance on plumbing systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and to prevent future problems.

Troubleshooting:

Diagnosing problems with plumbing systems, often using tools like leak detection devices and sewer cameras, to identify the cause of issues.

System management:

Working with various systems including hot and cold water, gas lines, and drainage and waste systems.
Additional duties


Blueprint interpretation:

Reading and understanding blueprints and building plans to plan and execute installations.

Code compliance:

Ensuring all work is done according to local plumbing codes and safety regulations.

Inspections:

Inspecting systems before and after installation to test for leaks and proper functionality.

Estimating and bidding:

Providing cost estimates for jobs and preparing bids.

Record keeping:

Maintaining logs of work performed and materials used. *

Collaboration:

Working with other construction professionals on new builds and remodels
