Job Description


The Role Responsibilities

This is a key role within the Discretionary Portfolio Management team, supporting the portfolio management process, providing sales and marketing support to key stakeholders, as well as product management & governance functions.

Investment Analysis

  • Assist with day to day portfolio management and implementation of asset allocation strategies across multi-asset class portfolios of mutual funds, ETFs and single securities
  • Monitor developments in discretionary portfolios, markets, and the global economy in order to learn and inform the tactical allocations across our portfolios
  • Develop and perform quantitative analysis of portfolios to understand the risk/return characteristics, potential impact and/or complementary nature of various strategies within portfolios
  • Contribute investment ideas, including selection of investment instruments (funds, ETFs & sub-advisors) for use in portfolios
  • Contribute to the bank\xe2\x80\x99s Global Investment Committee to help formulate the house view
  • Assist with the creation of robust customized Discretionary solutions (pitching, managing) spanning the range of our existing mandates
Sales & Marketing Support
  • Communicate effectively the team\xe2\x80\x99s strategy and portfolio positioning
  • Help manage and develop internal and externally approved marketing collaterals
  • Pro-actively prepare forward-looking analysis and commentary on portfolio performance and risks, and communicate these to the frontline
  • Support client pitches and portfolio reviews as required
Product Management and Governance
  • Active participation to expand the DPM product offering to other business segments
  • Performance Attribution \xe2\x80\x93 attention to detail and willingness to drive this part of the process
  • Observe governance procedures and perform risk oversight on the mandates in adherence to SCB stated policies
  • Contribute to the general development of investment, risk and governance processes
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for key governance meetings.

  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

  • DPM Portfolio Management team, Chief Investment Office, Fund Selection Team, Managed Investments & Advisory, Sales & Marketing (IAs, MSAs, Team Leads, RMs), Governance/ Compliance functions, COO
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Undergraduate degree, preferably with an Economics/Finance background. Post-graduate education a positive
  • Approximately 1 year of relevant experience within a private bank, wealth manager, asset manager or other relevant organization
  • Understanding of finance theory and quantitative techniques applied to portfolio construction and management
  • Interest/ experience of manager/mutual fund selection helpful
  • Understanding of Product management/ Product strategy helpful
  • Prior client facing experience in a private bank or portfolio management environment would be preferred
  • CFA, CAIA and other similar qualifications are advantageous
