Position Summary:
The position of Supplier Collaboration Engineer will be the leader and key communicator for various Collaborative Product and Process Development teams to interface with Suppliers and Procurement to ensure early supplier collaboration on design for manufacturability, assembly and costs as well as adherence to APQP guidelines. The position leads Cost Modeling activities that support the setting of Target Costs and managing product cost to achieve target while optimizing value. Additional functional responsibilities include: supplier selection at a part- number level aligned to category strategies, supplier tooling validation & management, design for X elements & provide PFEP requirements to deliver on engineered value chains.
Focus Areas:
Large Generator set packaging, including Sound Attenuated Enclosures for standby and primary power applications for a range of customers – Data Centers, industrial, commercial applications and governmental.
Travel:
25%, dependent on active projects, mainly in South East Asia

The purpose of Power Solutions network is to provide the Supplier management and integration in region.
The Power Solutions Network team’s purpose is to develop and manage the network of 3rd party Suppliers across sub regions.
Key responsibilities:
Developing and Managing Packaging Solutions Suppliers:
Own the Commercial relationship with the Supplier
Supplier Selection
Commercial and Contract development & maintenance
Integration with existing Caterpillar processes
Develop competitive solutions to support Sales and Customer facing teams
Request for Quote, commercial and demand management
Supplier project management
Develop and own the Supplier input/interface on the concept through to Sales quotation
Ensure a seamless concept and quotation process for the end Customer, working with Supplier and Caterpillar teams
Ensure suppliers have a clear understanding of Industry/Caterpillar design standards
Aid the development of standard processes and tools that can be replicated with peers and the network, focused on Commercial solutions and all costs associated with the extended supply chain.
Required qualifications or experience:
Essential:
Capability in Business Development. This role will require the successful candidate to develop new business and ways of doing business using a third-party network.
Good at creating relationships across multi-functional teams in multiple locations.
Purchasing and Supplier Management experience.
Experience in the Electric Power Industry.
Proficiency in English language both written and verbal is essential.
Desired:
Design and development experience in Solutions (Diesel/Gas generators and/or up-fitted sound attenuated enclosures).
Engineering experience in the Electric Power Industry.
Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience
Proven negotiation experience.
Project management experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science or extensive equivalent experience.
Knowledge on logistics and taxation
Genset packaging experience
