As a full-service law practice, DOP Law Corporation is supported by people with various skills set. These people are our lawyers, our paralegals and our administrative officers; all of whom are important to us.
At DOP Law Corporation, we understand the importance for a practice trainee to receive proper and adequate legal training before embarking on a career as a qualified lawyer.
As a practice trainee, you will have first-hand experience in the practice of law in Singapore and you will be exposed to the various disciplines of legal practice, including:
1. Corporate practice;
2. Civil litigation;
3. Criminal litigation; and
4. Conveyancing practice
For your practice training, a director of DOP Law Corporation will act as your supervising solicitor. Your supervising solicitor will introduce you to the various aspects of the practice of law in Singapore in accordance with the Guidelines for Practice Training Contracts prescribed under the Legal Profession (Admission) Rules 2011.
During the course of your practice training, you will be given opportunities to carry out most work which a fully qualified lawyer would undertake in the usual course of legal practice, including legal research and drafting, client care and management and advocacy.
You will also be receiving training on matters of professional responsibility, etiquette and conduct. Such matters are part and parcel of legal practice and no less important than actual legal work.
It is hoped that the training provided will give you a realistic understanding of the practice of law and equip you with the skills required for your legal career.
As a practice trainee, you are not an employee of DOP Law Corporation. Nevertheless, you will receive an honorarium for the period of your training.
