Job Description


The Pre-school teacher builds a secure and good learning environment for children. This is done by forming meaningful and trusting relationships with them. He/She supports the holistic development of children. He/She achieves this by the carrying out of a progressive and culturally proper curriculum. He/She builds partnerships with parents and families. He/She is active in taking part in centre drives. He/She aids the team efforts with the community. He/She aids a culture of teamwork. He/She also nurtures good relationships with colleagues. Finally, he/she takes part in constant learning and reflective practices.
~ Follow health, safety, nutritional and hygiene standards and rules.
~ Guide the social and emotional growth along with confidence in children.
~ Impart the core values of early childhood education with events.
~ Reach out to and foster trust and respect in relationships with children.
~ Review teaching and learning approaches that follow Curriculum Frameworks.
~ Set up home-centre partnerships.
~ Set up quality learning environments.
~ Show an understanding of the centre\xe2\x80\x99s vision, mission and values.
~ Show ethics and professionalism.
~ Take part in centre initiatives and programmes.
~ Take part in collaborative projects with people involved with the school.
~ Take part in constant learning and reflective practices.
~ Team up and foster good workplace relations.
~ Understand the learning and developmental needs of young children (birth to age 8).
~ Use classroom management and document children\xe2\x80\x99s learning.
