Currently, more than 1800 students are learning at GESS supported by more than 400 full time and part time academic and administrative staff members. In August 2018 GESS moved to Dairy Farm Road to a modern new school campus located at the edge of Singapore\'s largest nature reserve.

We are looking for a Preschool Teacher for one of our German speaking classes. It\'s a full-time position with 40 working hours per week. Start date: from 8th January 2024.

Wir suchen eine Vorschullehrerin/einen Vorschullehrer f\xc3\xbcr eine unserer deutschsprachigen Klassen. Es handelt sich um eine Vollzeitstelle mit 40 Arbeitsstunden pro Woche. Startdatum ab 8. Januar 2024.

Responsibilities

• Fully responsible for running a Preschool homeroom class
• Planning, implementation and assessment of the International Baccalaureate, Primary Years Programme (PYP)
• Planning, preparing and sharing documentation in relation to school curricula and children\'s development, reports and digital portfolios. Involvement in policy writing, curriculum reviews etc
• Create an inspiring learning environment that promotes children\'s agency, independence and allows for differentiation
• Establishing working partnerships with parents and ensuring respectful and consistent communication about children\'s development and school life
• Facilitating regular parents teacher conferences, parents\' evenings, and other parents\' activities
• Contribute to the goals of the Preschool, reflecting the mission, vision and values of the School

• Planung, Durchf\xc3\xbchrung und Bewertung gem\xc3\xa4\xc3\x9f International Baccalaureate, Primary Years Programme (PYP)
• Planung, Vorbereitung und Weitergabe von Unterlagen in Bezug auf die Lehrpl\xc3\xa4ne und die Entwicklung der Kinder, Berichte und digitale Portfolios. Mitwirkung bei der Ausarbeitung von Richtlinien, Lehrplan\xc3\xbcberpr\xc3\xbcfungen usw.
• Schaffung eines anregenden Lernumfelds, das die Eigenverantwortung und Unabh\xc3\xa4ngigkeit der Kinder f\xc3\xb6rdert und Differenzierung erm\xc3\xb6glicht
• Zusammenarbeit mit Eltern und Gew\xc3\xa4hrleistung einer respektvollen und konsistenten Kommunikation \xc3\xbcber die Entwicklung der Kinder und das Schulleben
• Durchf\xc3\xbchrung regelm\xc3\xa4\xc3\x9figer Elternsprechtage, Elternabende und anderer Aktivit\xc3\xa4ten f\xc3\xbcr Eltern
• Beitrag zu den Zielen der Vorschule, die den Auftrag, die Vision und die Werte der Schule widerspiegeln

Requirements

• Appropriate experience and teaching qualification
• Articulate and effective written and oral communication in German and English language, as the medium of instruction is in German language
• Must have previous teaching experience in a Preschool setting: knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme and the Reggio Emilia philosophy is desirable
• Must have experience in teaching hands-on and inquiry lead approaches as well as in a play-based curriculum
• Enthusiastic and passionate when working with children, alert and responsive to their needs and interests, modelling and supporting inquiry and play based learning
• Demonstrate highest levels of honesty, integrity and professionalism
• Must be creative in delivering lesson plans and children-lead inquiry based learning engagements

Anforderungen

• Angemessene Arbeitserfahrung und Lehrbef\xc3\xa4higung
• Ausdrucksstarke und effektive schriftliche und m\xc3\xbcndliche Kommunikation in deutscher und englischer Sprache, da die Unterrichtssprache Deutsch ist
• Erfahrung im Unterrichten in einer Vorschule/ in einem Kindergarten: Kenntnisse des International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme und der Reggio Emilia Philosophie sind w\xc3\xbcnschenswert
• Erfahrung im Unterrichten von praktischen und forschenden Ans\xc3\xa4tzen sowie in einem spielbasierten Lehrplan
• Enthusiasmus und Leidenschaft bei der Arbeit mit Kindern, Aufmerksam keit und Aufgeschlossenheit f\xc3\xbcr ihre Bed\xc3\xbcrfnisse und Interessen, Erm\xc3\xb6glichen und Unterst\xc3\xbctzung von forschendem und spielerischem Lernen

Our School

The German European School Singapore (GESS) is a multi-lingual, not-for-profit, German international school in Singapore with a distinct European flavour. As an accredited \'Excellent German School Abroad\', the German Section of GESS offers all major German school leaving certificates.

Our European Section offers tuition in English for students from grade 1 - 12 across all three IB programmes (the PYP, the MYP and the IB Diploma Programme) as an authorised IB World School.

Children aged 2 years onwards can enroll in our Preschool where children are following the PYP programme in German-speaking, English-speaking or bilingual groups.
