Understand the required centre operations and support P / VP / AVP/ LT / ST in centre\xe2\x80\x99s operations Job Responsibilities: CURRICULUM \xc3\x98 Communicates with families about the programme\xe2\x80\x99s approach. \xc3\x98 Has basic knowledge and ability to set up developmentally appropriate indoor and outdoor learning environments. \xc3\x98 Understand and demonstrate the rationale for selecting and arranging materials and equipment and make adaptations when required. \xc3\x98 Engages children in an active process of exploring materials and equipment. \xc3\x98 Identify ways to modify the schedule according to individual children\xe2\x80\x99s needs and requirements. \xc3\x98 Initiates strategies based on knowledge of children\xe2\x80\x99s interests, needs and temperament. \xc3\x98 Understand and facilitates child-initiated and adult-facilitated activities and interactions. \xc3\x98 Demonstrates warm, positive, nurturing, and respectful interactions with children. \xc3\x98 Identify a variety of positive guidance techniques. \xc3\x98 Engage children in an active process of exploring materials and equipment. \xc3\x98 Support children\xe2\x80\x99s learning by allowing them time to grasp concepts or practice skills and responding to them in meaningful ways. \xc3\x98 Recognise the importance of observing and documenting children\xe2\x80\x99s learning. \xc3\x98 Contributes ongoing observations to understand children\xe2\x80\x99s behaviour, maintaining confidentiality. \xc3\x98 Observe children\xe2\x80\x99s relationships and is aware of their involvement with each other. CONNECTING WITH FAMILIES \xc3\x98 Maintains confidentiality and ensures privacy on communications and data about families and colleagues. \xc3\x98 Shares information and relevant resources with families about the curriculum, children\xe2\x80\x99s daily activities and their progress on a regular basis. \xc3\x98 Build and sustains respectful relationship with families that capitalise on families\xe2\x80\x99 strength and capacities. CENTRE OPERATIONS \xc3\x98 Demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively effectively with colleagues, children, families and others. \xc3\x98 Follows staff roster and class timetable. \xc3\x98 Support the vision, mission and core values of the centre. \xc3\x98 Aware of facility requirement and report maintenance issue to RO. \xc3\x98 Demonstrate commitment to provide quality care and education for the children. \xc3\x98 Recognises the importance of supporting diverse needs of children through positive partnership with families.

HEALTH AND SAFETY \xc3\x98 Ensure Champs safety in all areas and activities. Eg: Champs are to be supervised at all times. \xc3\x98 Ensure all Champs hygiene at all times. Eg: Proper hand washing and food handling habits. \xc3\x98 Ensures classroom adheres to safety and hygiene regulations. Eg: Hygiene items are accessible, classroom is free from hazards. \xc3\x98 Report any damage/safety hazards in classroom to VP / P. \xc3\x98 To ensure cleanliness in all parts of the centre \xc3\x98 To lead class during any fire evacuation exercise and ensure that all Champs are accounted for. \xc3\x98 Menu is displayed. \xc3\x98 Food allergies of individual child are displayed prominently. \xc3\x98 Staff are patient with messiness slow eater are given time to finish food, children are encouraged to eat independently. \xc3\x98 Staff and children observe good hygiene practices. \xc3\x98 Proper hands washing with soap after toileting, before/after meals and \xc3\x98 after outdoor and art activities. \xc3\x98 Proper sanitary procedures are observed during diaper changing. \xc3\x98 Staff wash their hands before/after diaper changing. \xc3\x98 Soiled diapers are properly disposed in a covered bin. \xc3\x98 Children are supervised at all times. \xc3\x98 Children are within sight, hearing and easy reach of staff Eg: Staff quickly get materials from cupboard in room) \xc3\x98 Staff\xe2\x80\x99s attention is on care giving responsibilities, not on other tasks or interests. \xc3\x98 Power points are out of children\xe2\x80\x99s reach or rendered harmless. \xc3\x98 There are proper storage facilities for play equipment; more than 2 staffs are present during outdoor play. \xc3\x98 Safety gates are latched at all times. \xc3\x98 Ensure that administration of medicine forms are updated and filled. \xc3\x98 Children suffering from infections/ communicable diseases return to centre upon expiry of medical certification and are well (No symptoms of the illness). \xc3\x98 Children\xe2\x80\x99s personal effects such as toothbrushes and mugs, mattress covers and combs are labelled and well maintained. \xc3\x98 Contact information of parents / guardians and medical information of children are up-to-date and readily available. HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT \xc3\x98 Know the expectations of one\xe2\x80\x99s job description and is familiar with the organisation\xe2\x80\x99s personnel policies such as performance management, wages, benefits contact. Job Requirements: \xc3\x98 Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education - Teaching (DECCE-T) \xc3\x98 Creative and inspiring with loving energy \xc3\x98 Excellent communication and classroom management skills \xc3\x98 Be familiar with all working curriculum documents, handbooks and policy manuals. \xc3\x98 Knowledge in educational development / cognitive psychology \xc3\x98 Bilingual in English & Chinese
