Job Purpose / Role
Pricing Lead – Liability, Asia Pacific is a seasoned professional and drives forward work and initiatives in the area of his / her responsibility, sets and manages his/ her priorities. He/ She is a key member of the Global Pricing department developing, implementing and overseeing liability pricing support. He/She mentors and provides guidance to other team members incl. junior staff. He/She engages in discussions with senior management and the Board of Management and maintains links to the other AGCS departments as well as to Group functions.


Future Challenges

  • Develop new methods, solutions, and approaches. This includes implementing or performing Portfolio Steering processes in Foundry.
  • Delivery on current and future projects with limited resources.



Job Responsibilities
  • Manage & drive forward own area of responsibility or projects including ad hoc requests.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining pricing and portfolio information related reporting processes (e.g. to foster understanding of exposure developments), redesigning and implementing these pricing support processes. Moreover, this includes defining data quality and cleaning standards as well as ensuring proper execution of Liability pricing in Radar.
  • Develop and implement regional portfolio steering analyses as well as enhance technical approaches. Perform strategic portfolio analyses for AGCS Global for the AGCS BoM and provide input to the AGCS planning process as assigned.
  • Peer review work from other team members and mentor, provide guidance to junior team members
  • Promote close collaboration and interaction with the various business areas (Group, UW, MM, CFO, etc.) to foster mutual understanding how business developments, UW strategy and other trends impact portfolio management KPIs. Contribute with Portfolio Steering reporting to cross-CxO portfolio steering discussions and exchanges (e.g. smart circles) for all Liability products / segments to identify areas of action (grow, maintain, fix, shrink, etc.) for the AGCS Liability portfolio.
  • Keep abreast of leading market practice and drive innovation.
  • Proactive and willing to travel.



Technical Skills
  • Market & Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of the AGCS product portfolio and macroeconomic trends.
  • Insurance and Finance know-how (ideally P&C) as well as understanding of complexities inherent in an insurance group combined with a robust understanding of other areas (UW, CCO, CFO, etc.) allowing for cross-departmental thinking and acting.
  • Job specific knowledge with regards to portfolio management and Actuarial approaches and concepts.
  • Strong data analysis and visualizatoin skills incl. Javascript, CSS, Python, VBA and SQL as well as database management skills incl. database design and technical development.



General Skills
  • Navigating Complexity: Ability to make sense of complex issues; respond to complex/ambiguous situations by identifying & initiating appropriate remediation & follow up. Anticipate and resolve issues before these transpire.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Ability to understand, elaborate and convey information clearly and effectively in respect to the audience / level of management (both verbal and in writing).
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to develop and positively influence key, strategic position holders across locations and functions. Ability to recognize and deal with disputes in a rational, balanced and effective way.
  • Bridge builder: Bring together colleagues across different areas (LoBs, Actuarial, P&PM, CAT,etc.) leading to PM being used as a critical exchange platform by the business to optimize AGCS portfolio mix.



Experience & Education
  • Excellent tertiary qualification (ideally Master) with quantitative focus (e.g. Business Informatics, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics) or qualified by experience in related discipline.
  • Significant professional experience in an international working environment, preferable spanning multiple types and lines of business.
  • Proven experience in senior level communication.
  • Successfully driven large assignments, ideally of global scale and in a dynamic environment.
  • Peer review.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing management information reporting processes and analyses based on database solutions.
