Based in Singapore, global commercial hub for Rio Tinto About the role Our new Commercial Services & Digital team will streamline and guide how we invest in and harness technology for Commercial. This team will modernise and digitise our manual processes, addressing pain points for employees and focus on initiatives for improving customer experiences. We see Commercial Services as the engine room with their focus on post deal tasks such as invoicing, trade finance, shipping and laytime. Commercial Services & Digital is a unique opportunity to bring digital closer to the business, to create more synergies between teams and bring together business improvements to achieve business excellence. We're looking for an experienced Principal Advisor Automation Lead that can independently work with end-users to derive competitive-advantage and commercial differentiation with the use of technology in the commercial business. You'll work within the Commercial Services & Digital team which is accountable for delivering value to business groups within Rio Tinto Commercial. This role is a great opportunity for an accomplished engineer who takes pride in working closely with the business to solve problems, learn and pick up new technologies based on the needs of the organization, and level-up on existing expertise. Reporting to the Manager Governance, Portfolio & RAD, you will be: . Come ready to do the best work of your life and influence your team to do the same . Assesses and identifies opportunities in conjunction with BPR to understand process improvement opportunities . Understands the new technologies and best practices in the market, and partnering with Internal IS&T AoE in Automation and external vendors to bring these automation technologies in Commercial (e.g. UIPath, Kissflow, etc) . Supports the implementation and ensure processes are managed/automated using the right tools/standards . Collaborate with other developers, product analysts, solution architect and testers as part of the wider team within Commercial Services & Digital team . Contribute to analysis, design and development of systems, business processes, data and interfaces. . Own all operational aspects of your code . Support and enhance existing tools and applications utilised by commercial business . Mentoring junior members of the team as well as within Commercial both in technical and functional aspect What you will need for the role To succeed in this role, you will have: . A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team, and alignment with our values of Care, Courage and Curiosity . 5-7 years of experience in supporting business process improvement and leading cross-functional teams or similar . Excellent communication skills to liaise with people from different background, both technical and non-technical . Highly effective leadership, organisational, time management and analytical skills . Experience working in an agile work environment will be viewed favourably . Proficient with MS Office Suite and relevant programming / technology experience (e.g.coding, RPA, workflow tools, data visualization, data analytics) It will also be beneficial if you have: . Experience in working with geographically disperse teams in a global organisation . Exposure of development and support in a trading floor environment . Preferred qualifications include programming certification (e.g.RPA certification), Agile Scrum . Strong numerical skills, ideally with a numerate degree What we offer .
