As the deployed resident power plant engineer at Eagle Services Asia, the candidate will reside at the Maintenance Center and report directly to the Senior Manager (Asia Pacific), Powerplant Engineering and Cost. The primary responsibilities include writing original and revised workscopes in support of engine shipments for the Fleet Management Program (PW4000) and Flight Hourly Agreement (V2500), as well as workscope optimization and controlling maintenance cost for the engines going through the overhaul shops via in-shop cost management. The candidate will be working with the local maintenance center teams, resident center managers, fleet managers, finance, and other support organizations to accomplish these goals.   • Authoring original and revised workscopes for contracted engines under the FMP and FHA in consultation with Fleet Management, Field Service Reps and the Airline
  • Acting as the technical lead and focal point to the Maintenance Centre to provide guidance on technical inquiries related to the shop visit including workscope upgrade approvals
  • In-process maintenance cost tracking by engine to enable proactive measures and decision paths which result in reducing maintenance shop visit cost, and promotes generation of new cost reduction ideas for evaluation / incorporation into future shop visits
  • Conducting invoice review, analysis and deconstruction to identify top cost drivers and generate cost reduction ideas that will benefit future shop visits
  • Conducting review of unserviceable or removed engine hardware for potential salvage, Engine Manual changes or future repair development.
  • Collaboration with Core Engineering teams in East Hartford, Fleet Management and customers to ensure fleet health status, understand technical risks and mitigation actions to implement
  • Collaboration with cross-functional team on the cost reduction ideas and their implementation in PW network shops, as well as identifying new opportunities for evaluation through the PW program office and repair council process
  • Collaboration with local Maintenance Center teams (Operations, Engineering, Materials, Supply Chain) and Network Resident Management, Material Management and Network Repair Centers, to identify and act on in-process opportunities which drive contain workscope, reduced maintenance cost without compromise to quality
  • Leading Continuous Improvement initiatives that consolidate data based results into sustained improvements resulting in future maintenance cost reduction; for example, maintenance process optimization, logistics, sourcing, repair innovation, and increased part serviceability yields.
  • Occasional travel will be required to Asia Pacific based Maintenance Centers, as well as the P&W headquarters located in East Hartford, Connecticut, USA.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a technical role
  • Preferably with experience working with or for PW Aftermarket and/or similar MRO businesses, technical knowledge of commercial gas turbine engines and workscoping
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining an effective work/life balance
  • Excellent analytic, diagnostic, research and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with effective communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Preferably with a minimum 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 working experience in Project / Program Management
  • Preferably with familiarization of the engine overhaul processes, engine hardware, assembly, disassembly, operation and testing
  • Preferably with familiarization Engine Manuals, Maintenance Management plans, Service Bulletins and AD notes
  • Experience in one or more of the followings: Powerplant Engineering, Engine Test, Design, Process, Airline Powerplant Engineering or MRO shop business
