What you\'ll do

The Purpose of the Sales Operations Center of Excellence Principal is to support the development of the global sales operations function into a world class organisation in terms of efficiency and effectiveness. This includes coordinated systems and digitisation across the post trade life cycle, support for new product development and requisite business process and system design, business process standardisation and best practice sharing across sales operations span of control on a global basis and implementation of a fit for purpose Anglo operating Model approach within the sales operations function. The role will also have a key role to play in leading key project work both in terms of aligning to the AOM methodology and change management support.

KEY TASKS

Performance & Delivery (required for all roles)

AOM Design
  • Support the design and optimisation of the Anglo Operating Model for Sales Operations:
  • Formalise the AOM for Sales Operations. This includes documentation and any associated training on AOM and measurement framework
  • With this standard framework look to drive effectiveness in how we operate. This would include seeking to create discipline around embedding the AOM through KPI\'s / metrics / embedding in work management system.
  • Focus of work effort would be on effectiveness of task and efficiency of how we operate with hard metrics to deliver quantifiable benefit ($\'s)
  • The outcome would be a \'fit for purpose\' AOM to support the delivery of Marketing\'s ambition
Systems Improvement focus
  • Supporting a regular Systems focused steering committee, liaising with counterparties in central business improvement and IM to develop and drive a prioritised systems improvement roadmap across the global sales operations function.
  • Interface with stakeholders in the Digital team to purse digitisation of the post trade life cycle and engage with external stakeholders from other mining companies as required to drive for industry standardisation
New Business Activity
  • Act as the point of entry on material change projects which includes new product and align to the Anglo American Operating model including risk identification, ensuring that infrastructure and control groups confirm support and validate that new activities can be adequately managed.
  • Support sales operations teams in the definition of the business requirements and operational impacts prior to implementation of new commercial activity (markets and products).
  • Support the sales operations teams in translating the commercial deliverable into a clear set of plain language business requirements, process maps and operating procedures and ensure these are syndicated and agreed by the Commodity Marketing Team and Functional teams.
  • When required create and oversee a change management plan, including a thorough stakeholder analysis and mapping.
Best Practice development and process standardisation
  • Support the implementation of new systems/processes to the point where they are part of the business as usual practices for Sales Operations.
  • Oversee a program of end to end process improvement, focussing on identifying internal best practices and syndicating them to the broader sales operations community, then standardising and aligning processes and procedures so that there is a consistent way of working
  • Identify and guide a systems development roadmap to increase automation and overall efficiency in the post trade life cycle.
  • This extends to people and organisational support for development of a sales operations employee value proposition, training, career development and succession planning processes
Compliance
  • Adherence to all Anglo American Group and Marketing policies and procedures, as well as observing proper standards of conduct relating to the role.
  • Comply with Anglo American Security and Operating Standards
Qualifications

What we\'re looking for
  • Experience in commodity marketing/commercial role within a large organisation and/ or as an advisor from consulting group
  • Experience as a Project Manager, as well as demonstrated ability to drive value initiatives
  • Expertise in Operational Risk
  • Detailed knowledge of the business improvement concepts, measurement and identification to identify opportunities and implement.
  • Some travel to other Anglo-American offices
