Develop, test and qualify new encapsulants, foils and back-sheets for next generation PV modules.
Process Development:
Drive quality improvement in the reliability aspects of next generation PV modules.
Simulations and modeling:
Build-up and develop the polymer degradation model to understand the failure mechanisms.
Others:
Assist R&D and process teams with technical analyses, troubleshooting and improvement projects.
Plan, coordinate and execute product enhancements to module design with external collaborators.
Drive project schedule and technical enquiries.
Strategize testing/characterization methods.
Keep up to date with polymer manufacturing processes and materials.
Qualifications:
Ph.D in Polymer Science/Chemical Engineering Field.
Minimally 3 years of relevant experience; working experience in Solar/Semiconductors/Electronics/Packaging industries will be an advantage.
Knowledge and experience in polymer manufacturing.
Knowledge and experience in characterization and analysis of polymers, familiar with analytical instruments such as DSC, TGA, UV-Vis spectrometer, FTIR and Ramen.
Possession of project management skills, keeping track of key milestones and deliverables and providing regular updates to management team.
Knowledge of statistical data analysis methods and DOE.
Ability to co-operate with different professionals (operations, equipment suppliers, technology institutes, supply chain, operation).
Self-driven, proactive and analytical team player.
Travelling to conferences, seminars, and research institutes is to be expected.
Additional Advantageous Skills:
Product Reliability Test Design: Familiar with reliability (accelerated aging) tests, e.g. Damp-heat, Thermal Cycling, Humidity freeze, UV exposure.
Failure Analysis: To lead FA from technical part. In-depth understanding of module process structure property relations, and the degradation mechanism in actual application. To create test methodology to analyze failure samples and find out root cause. To document FA report based on technical understanding.
Documentation: Experience in documentation of experimental observations & data in publications / literature.
