Process Technology Specialist I - Your future position?

Location: Singapore - Woodlands

Reporting to: Process Technology Team Lead

As a Process Technology Specialist at Givaudan, you will report to the Process Technology Team Lead. You will set up manufacturing instructions, production versions including specific manufacturing requirements related to equipment, formula or dietary restrictions. Aside from that, assist to troubleshoot manufacturing problems related to non-conformances, or manufacturing inefficiencies, while supporting local process technology improvement projects. You will also partner with flavourists to ensure formula design meets manufacturing capabilities with NPIR, and also with the Quality and Operations department to resolve product non-conformances (including customer complaints).

Main Responsibilities

Assist the daily operation and activities within a manufacturing site

• Lead troubleshooting of products and ingredients
• Escalate issues to top management and communicates relevant information updates to main contacts in Quality, Operations, FC&A, Purchasing and Customer Care.
• Perform local Industrialization activities, such as manufacturing instructions set-up, production versions, and its change management. Solve formula design issues in collaboration with FC&A.

Support manufacturing technological process optimization and harmonization within the site

• Source ideas and identify opportunities to improve the yield for Liquids and Washes (or other technologies) by improving the process efficiency.
• Perform trials and experiments to test out new ideas and technologies.
• Introduce the identified solution to the site and lead the implementation with the local partners.

Identify (and lead) continuous improvement and expansion opportunities for the site

• Identify formulas that are complex and have potential for optimization through linearization.
• Develop the plan to prioritize and implement the linearization process.
• Work with the local PT and FC&A to linearize the identified formulas.
• Ensure that the linearized formulas are still meeting the customer\'s expectations/requirements.

GPS - CI Support

• Support GPS projects related to all technologies, to source out capacity improvement opportunities.
• Identify gaps and project opportunities.
• Assure understanding and ensure knowledge/best practices sharing

Education, Background and Skills

• Bachelor\'s degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or Process Engineering
• Overall position related experience of minimum 5 years.
• Flavours/food industry experience is preferred (but not a must)
• Good project management skills and utilization of the project management techniques.
• Experienced in Continuous Improvement tools is preferred.
• Experience with quality and consumer goods Industrialization processes is preferred
• Ability to bring structure, logic, clarity, control and technical excellence to complex situations.
